Not sure what to call this really it's not a present it's certainly not a treat but it is just my luck, which I thought was changing obviously not.
its my birthday on Saturday, this morning I received a letter in the post for an appointment I have been waiting 3 years for so you would think great finally but oh no, the appointment date is for my birthday on Saturday, but the last thing i want is to spend it in pain after a visit to the dental hospital to have 3 broken teeth removed, 3 years I have been waitng for them to remove one of the broken teeth, it's been a mess up from start to finish, amazes me they don't lookmat your records see your date of birth and realise that the last place on earth you would want to be on your birthday is at the Dentist, I hate dentists I'm scared of the dentist, my previous dentist screwed my mouth up so much I'm constantly in pain,
but ut a phone call later and changed the appointment to a months time.
I must have done some serious shit in a past life to be this unlucky

My dentist screw up and change of hospital the last would only do it under a general anaesthetic and I want sedation, I don't want a general anesthetic due to complications with last one I had, whlch should have been avoided if anethetist had read my notes they couldn't get a breathing tube in me for a long time, and then they couldn't wake me up due to breathing issue, because my osophagas is in the wrong place. I try and either have sedation or spinal now if I need surgery where possible,

Good luck with it and at least the delay is only a month. At least you can have a nice birthday.

Wow 3 years, no wonder they sent it on your Birthday as a present to make up for the two years before.
A present is a present after all. Please make sure you send them a thank you card 3 years later.
Have a nice Birthday Saturday Clairea and good luck with the appointment

TBH I would have gone for the appointment Birthday or not. I'm quite sure the overstretched NHS have more to consentrate on that checking that nobody gets unpleasant appointments on their Birthdays!

I don't want to be in pain on my birthday and a month later isn't going to make a big difference when waited 3 years to be sorted. A weeks notice is not enough time anyway already have plans for the day, if it wasn't my birthday and an ordinary sTurday not much I can do with a weeks notice, need someone with me because of sedation and hubbie teaches for the American Red Cross on Saturdays and wouldn't have been able to take me on such short notice, it's hard enough for him to get cover at the best of times and people have paid the Red Cross for being taught first aid by my hubbie, hubbie doesn't get paid he does this voluntary after working a 60 hour week,

You are obviously too young if you still celebrate birthdays, just a normal day in this house, you get a card and that's your lot Good luck with the appointment, what happens during childhood definitely forms your views as an adult, I would rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser but that's another story

It's all down to the hormones I had to take in my twenties ruined my gums and caused major tooth problem, I know how you feel hun the Buprenorphine patches I've been in for last 8 years cause dry mouth. 2 years after starting them I went from having a perfect set of gnashers to something akin to a hillbilly's grin. Gl at the dentist hun

If it was me, I would grin and bear it, maybe your birthday but you will have plenty more...
...atleast your teeth will get sorted, 3 years is a long wait and I wouldn't risk another long wait.

You are annoyed you have waited three years. They give you an appointment and you are still annoyed. :/ Are the NHS' problems as bad as they are made out or are people harder to please nowadays...? I don't know, but I've always had great service from the NHS.
