Amazon Live Tv box

Stick kodi on robby then instal genesis and the jobs a good un. Then After sideloading Kodi go to this link www.amazon.com/XBMC-Foundation-Kodi/dp/B00TWM8IBA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1425670241&sr=8-6&keywords=Kodi&tag=viglink20238-20 and click on buy it with one click ( it will say that it is not compatible but works )
Go to settings on the stick and go to my account and click on sync content and it will put the kodi shortcut on your recents home screen. Saves all the faffing about going into the apps etc.

I've got one of these too - absolutely cracking (oh and they have Gigabit LAN, 2G/8G). Very well supported through the Minix forums too. Box comes with the Minix XBMC 13.3.3, but just grab Kodi, shove on a good community build from Totalxbmc and happy days.

The Firestick is excellent, the Robin Hood repo is good on Kodi as well

Great thread thanks people, learning lots. What are the broadband requirements? Living in the 80's in the uk sticks (thanks BT)?

Would a amazon fire stick be able to install Kodi / TVMC and work on rural line?

Go to the speedometer speed test on the mcafee site to test your download speed. I'm using Virgin broadband and it tops out about 45 meg but my mate uses his on his crappy sky broadband and he's lucky if it hits 7 meg but it's still usable

Thanks dalealan at present I have max of 2 meg but moving shortly so should get near 7 meg. Looking to get the tv box and setup Kodi/ TVMC onto it once we move.

2 meg is probably a bit slow. You can always stick kodi onto a laptop to give it a whirl to see if it keeps up. Hurry up n move

Much to my amazement, thanks mainly to copious amounts of wine . . . . I've managed to set up a Fire Stick on my kitchen TV.


Why do none of the instructions, videos and all that jazz - tell you to check the Source/Input thingame? This is doubtless basic stuff, but when you have the technical acumen of a single cell organism it's like scaling Everest.

Anyhow, all done and downloaded a few apps, got the wires tucked away also so they don't offend.

The Abacus was so much easier.

Sadly all instructions etc. are written/made by the technically proficient and they always seem to forget that what's second nature to them isn't always for their customers.

They'll run off wifi or ethernet.......I run my android box on the ethernet cable.

As Chris says no aerial required Dave - got mine to power off the USB port on the TV also which I was well chuffed about, otherwise it would have meant having a messy extension/trailing leads affair.

I've a bit of thing about untidy wireage . . . . . .
