Just had a quick look at a post on fb from Busardo. A 10ml bottle of ejuice in Portugal now costs €12. Half of that is tax. Think we could get taken for a ride here as well come next year.

It's going to happen sooner or later, anything that gets consumed in any great quantity the government is going to throw a tax on it, the best we can hope for is it doesn't get to ridiculous levels.

I think when they see how the rest of Europe have done it our blazers will jump on the bandwagon and it will probably be a ridiculous level. Then in typical fashion will point the finger at the others and say they are falling into line with the rest of Europe. Blah blah, just the usual political shit. Now, I'm not politically minded, nor do I wish to start a political debate but, IMO it won't matter who wins the upcoming election, whichever party is in control will be only too ready to hump the great British vaping public for the revenue being lost on traditional tobacco products.

Regrettably I think you are correct striker42 - it's just too good a chance to miss. We are going to get nobbled whichever way we go. It is for this reason dear reader, that I am making sure that I have sufficient supplies of nic base (in my mind, the only item which will be subject to tax, and therefore availability!) to be comfortable come this time next year.

I'm in the same camp as you chykensa. I don't relish the thought of paying around £10 for 10 ml of my favourite tipple for my tank.

I agree with you both striker42 and chykensa . But I wish to add one more point. Why do junkies get free methadone, but we get the tax stick rammed right up our exhaust pipe for our alternative to a lethal substance? It's generally agreed that nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to man, and that the fags are a shortcut to the pearly gates, yet we get taxed for saving our lives and they get off scot free. And to make it worse, our addiction is to a legal substance. Pfff, I'm gonna become an alcoholic junkie serial criminal, it's the only way the powers that be will offer support instead of victimization. Hmmm, I have a cunning plan (no turnips involved, i promise) blow up the houses of commons and lords, it was the fags made me do it, it wisnae my fault, I had to do it to fuel my addiction, now gimmie free nic base ya bunch o false whigs.

people get methadone on prescription as you can get nicotine gum/patches etc. no matter what uk do with tp rules i doubt the government will be in a big hurry to add nic juice to the prescription list, unless it's big t's or big p doing the supply. Onepoundliquid will not get a look in. And in England prescriptions are not free. However I agree if it's popular and enjoyable, they will tax it. And that goes for all of the parties.
