Hi all
Been off the fags since 1st Jan 2014, up until recently I was only able to buy my eliquid from a local vape shop (which meant a frantic drive through rush hour after work to get there before the shop closed)
I was disappointed with the kits I had bought, both for battery life and shelf life, the batteries lasted about 6 weeks before the thread wore out, I was told in the shop this is normal?
I've worn out 4 of these type batteries, however after losing my ecig one night in a pub in N Yorks, I stumbled across a vaping shop in Ingleton where I bought a larger capacity battery that has lasted 2 weeks short of a year, I lost it last week (in a pub) this time in the Mendips.
I have emergency ecigs as back ups, one is a dodgy looking one I bought in Spain (as the battery ran out on a night out) and a vapestick I bought as my clearomizer broke. Sadly the tanks aren't interchangeable.
So..... I'm actually in the market for some new vaping kit and I've just discovered there is more to it than meets the eye!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi and welcome to the forum. there are pros and cons when you give up pros you feel healthier you dont smell of stale smoke you save money (yeh right) cons you quickly catch a disease called shineyitus you are continuously skint you become a shop-a-holic it is a total new world out there and like you i had no idea so many gadgets existed. anyway its 9 weeks down the road for me now and i have nice shiney toys and 60 odd bottles of various e liquid to keep me going. now as most of your previous kit has been pants we will try and advise on where to go next. first thing is whats your budget. and secondly do you want a pen type, a tube type or a tank type. once you give us an idea we can offer options.

A warm welcome to you damian. How you've managed such frugality in that time is nothing short of amazing! I'll kick off with an iStick 30watt recommendation . . . . myepack.co.uk/istick-30w.html

Hiya damian and to AAEC. Firstly i'd highly recommend a Istick 30w too, it lasts for a few days before needing a recharge and is a nice compact size. Secondly, what type or size tank would you be after? Single coil, dual coil or a rebuildable tank? Or, would you rather buy a simple starter kit like an Evod or suchlike, you can find them HERE use code AAEC10 for a further 10% off

This can be true. There is no shortage of quality kit though if you want to find it. It's just so sad that *most*of the kit on the market people buy is rubbish rip-off brand nonsense. I have some batteries close to 3 years old. Quality pays... but most shops don't sell quality and the infamous "brands" that rule the world (V2 would be a good example) sell junk for twice the price of quality kit. More reviews these days are fake than real and facebook and twitter help promote these crap brands. It doesn't help that genuinely well-meaning members of the community also post on youtube and fall for the shady arm-twisting of these greedy brands.

hi damian you found the right place here.. my advice a bit of do what i say not what i did is get a nice atty like advised above and a nice simple basic mech mod (battery tube), Then start browsing the wonderful 'sweetshop' far east sites like gearbest and fasttech, its way too easy to get shinyitus and spend spend spend after all its only 5-£10 per bit but it soon adds up in the ol shopping cart hehe... then again
