Have to admit I'm a bit disappointed that none of the mods (except perpetua early on) and they have been on here. Have given a view on this thread I'm guessing they would have a great knowledge of all vaping things including the occasional odd things that may happen. Seems like some people want to stay away from anything negative to do with vaping That's not fair I only found out earlier that it could be a VG problem by googling it and finding some answers on an Australian vaping site. Surely a problem thread with a possible good outcome is just as informative as a "struggling thread" Not ignoring you either Whufc. Everyone's been giving you the advice/thoughts that I would have done tbh . . . my own personal experience is this. PG, I've an allergy to, brings me out in hives, VG makes me congested/phlegmy . . . bit of a PITA really, as it's an allergy that has developed over time, nothing immediate . . . which from what I've read can happen. So, I take a couple of antihistamines a day . . . and mix my home brews to roughly 80/20% . . . this just about keeps the hives/congestion in check for me. . . given the amount carp I was shovelling into my body on a daily basis with the number of cigarettes I was smoking, it's a small price to pay for me. I'd deffo give the antihistamines a go as Macca has suggested.

Hope you get it sorted Whufc!
I don't have any adviceI'm afraid, just wanted to tell you that I'm now on my 3rd Cold sore since stopping smoking. I normally get one evry 3 months or so! I suppose after nearly 30 years of putting loads of c*ap into our bodies it's not all going to be plain sailing!

I got the awful mouth ulcers from weeks 2 - 4. All gone now. And terrible headaches for first few days that were not my usual migraine. After 6.5 weeks, I'm at the point where I think I need to cut the nicotine down, I am on around 18 - 20 mg and was a 20 - 25 a day smoker. I think because I sit and vape in the evening I'm getting too much and feel a bit nauseous and light headed. Just shows how all these guides are just guides, however as my workmate that I converted smoked ultra low Silk Cut about 15-20 daily. So we started her on 11mg - really not enough and she went up to my level and has been fine. The WAY she smoked though was different to me - she would puff away furiously and it would take me 4 times as long to smoke a fag than she did. I think she was getting big doses of nic where I was a more steady intaker.... As nursey, I can say you can develop a sensitiivity to anything over time - allergies don't usually happen on first exposure. So it is entirely possible that you were fine for a few days and then felt something was making you feel off. Hope you find your vaping holy grail soon. Ali x

The mods ain't necessarily anymore experienced than the rest of us to be brutally honest. Folks have offered advice & information, you either accept what people have said or you look elsewhere for your advice/info.
We all have our own knowledge & experience of vaping to share with others who are experiencing vaping problems. Dosen't matter whether your a mod or a regular forum user, everyones opinions are valid.
In fact, vaping is a continous learning curve for everyone, even those who have been vaping for years.

Here's a list of symptoms you could get from using ecigs and from quitting smoking: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.htmlI'm not sure if what I felt is the same as you so take it with a bucket of salt; when I used 18mg 100% pg eliquid I felt spaced out. I've discovered that I'm very intolerant to pg and I absorb nicotine so readily or my tolerance is so low that I can not go over 12mg and even that is uncomfy. I tend to use 6 - 8mg vg now and I will still get headaches and sometimes feel spaced out if I overdo it. I'll get really bad pins and needles then eventually feel numb in places if I keep going. It seems to start with my face; my eyelids feel tingly then my arms and hands, then my legs will go. It takes a while but if I hit that threshold it wont take much vaping to get pins and needles again for a few days. How anyone can do 24mg is beyond me but at the same time, I know some people using 24mg would think my 8mg was just flavoured air. The spaced out feeling is hard to describe, but I guess you'll know what I mean by spaced out. I managed to put rashes down to pg but the spacing out could have been too high a nicotine or pg intolerance. I dropped nicotine levels and stopped using pg at the same time. Sometimes 'low' rated liquid is too high for me. 1ml later and I have a pounding headache when I usually use 3 - 4ml of actual 'low' a day. Purely anecdotal of course, just to say it seems to take a few days of not vaping much and using only very low liquids for similar symptoms to go away for me.

I'm not qualified to give a medical opinion but when in doubt, see the doc.
The symptoms of giving up tobacco cigarettes are numerous and vary from person to person. I noticed my wheezy chest had completely cleared up within days of stopping smoking but I did suffer from gum-bleeding for a while. This, I believe, is the result of not ingesting tar that paralyzes part of the respiratory system (Google for more scientific info).
I started vaping with 38mg strength and have slowly reduced this to 18mg and still have no desire to smoke.
At first I thought that my extra thirst was a result of vaping in general but I now find some juices make my mouth dry and some (mainly sweet flavours such as Butterscotch, Maple Waffles etc) make my mouth water!
It is rare for anyone to be allergic to PG or VG as these are commonly used in everyday products (an humectant), even the production of cigarettes/tobacco to keep it moist. The vapour produced by heating glycol is often used in clubs and ice-shows etc. This equipment has presumably been tested 'safe.' Certainly the PG used in e-juice is of a pharmaceutical grade that has been classified by the FDA as officially a "safe" product (again, Google for the definitive information).
Of course, none of us should be inhaling anything other than fresh air, however when compared to the known dangers of tobacco smoking, vaping seems to be the lesser of two evils by a very long way. If vaping doesn't suit, and it doesn't suit everyone, then don't do it. We all know our own bodies and should be guided by the reaction we get as individuals.

I got some high juices that have really made me feel ill, nauseous, vomiting these where PG juices, i cut them with some VG and been fine since. In future im gonna buy just VG juices, just bought some 60/40 VG PG and see what difference that makes, i also got bad itching with 100% PG, so im wondering if ive got sensitive to PG or the juice was too high a nicotine for me?
i did think it was a bug but I only feel like this after vaping.

It's quite likely that it's the PG causing your itching Josie . . . I get red, raised itchy patches on my face and in my hair if I vape 100% PG . . . your nausea could be due to too high a nicotine strength if you're vaping a lot. That's what I've found anyway . . . it's a question of finding what does and doesn't suit you as an individual I think.

Hi Thanks for all the replies I think Leftfield made a good comparison to what i've been suffering Mine is a mild tingling around the nose and mouth area and a general numbness around the nose area and a desire to keep wanting to scratch my head. Still not sure whether it's PG or VG or something else Keep trying little bursts of each one to see if i get a reaction In hindsight probably best to stick to one type of juice one day and the opposite the next day and see what effects i get. If it was a withdrawal thing or a temporary thing i'd ride it through to the other side It's just unpleasant when it's happening. Only had two nasties today and now on the Riva So all is not lost Might buy some antihistimines tomorrow and see if that helps things Again thanks for the replies Apologies if i was a bit off last night with my mod comment it's just so bloody frustrating

I tend to have between four and six juices on the go at once. When I have issues, I rotate them out one at a time and work it out by elimination. (I get bored vaping the same thing all day and early on I found using lots of different juices stopped me wanting the nasties).

Apologies if i was a bit off last night with my mod comment it's just so bloody frustrating I know exactly what you mean lol sometimes you just want an "expert" to say this is the problem this is how you fix it, and to say it 5 mins before it happens lol

Ecigs are a learning curve for all of us I'd say, given that it's a relatively new phenomena . . . unlike tobacco which has been about since Adam was a lad it feels like and it's effects have been well researched and documented. Tobacco we just opened a pack, or rolled a rollie, sparked up and job done, there's a little more to ecigs than that . . . but so worth the little extra effort it can require. Additionally Vaping is a far more 'individual' recreation/addiction, so it's not always quite so easy to give a definitive answer to an issue someone maybe having.

Its very individual as Perpy says I was reluctant to post my experiences because what was down to vaping/giving up smoking or natural things that may of happened to me if I had carried on smoking I cannot say for sure
I have had to take anti-hissies for yrs anyway, I still have to sometimes now, so I dont know if pg sometimes gives me hives or if its what gave me hives before I vaped, I don't know
I had terrible heartburn, I mean terrible-cut down my nic level and seemed to of worked
I was very constipated for mths, seems to of corrected itself
Sorry thats all I can add and its quite different to your symtoms

If I may hijack and ever so slightly though perhaps not divert this post ish..
out of all the ejuices which are the most likely to have some kind of reaction on respiration (if any) only I tried some vanilla last night and noticed my chest felt kinda weird after it, almost like my lungs were a bit furry.. then I read that vanillin is not well tolerated by everyone etc.. but not sure if that's in the ejuices etc
its the only thing I had though before my chest felt weird, and stopped it and feels ok again today.
hmm, hope its not that juice though cuz it was gorgeous too:s..
