Hi Has anyone used the latest RBA section from the Subtank mini? It's done away with the juice channels and has 2 large holes in the sleeve that goes over the deck. I'm wondering if anyone has done a build on this deck yet. If so could I have some pointers on what to do with the wick tails
Cheers Chris

The new style RBA is a bit more forgiving when wicking, making dry hits less likely, but the performance doesn't improve that much. It's more an ease of use modification than a performance one. The original decks could wick 90VG juice just fine at up to 50W or so, but were very fiddly to get right under those conditions. The new deck with the drilled holes for juice makes things a bit easier.
The screw on the sleeve is actually a nice idea, since it does remove the problem of screwing the sleeve on too tight.
One drawback is the post screws are now a little closer to the sleeve, so the coil legs must be cut extra close to the screws to prevent shorting.

So pretty much the same as the regular deck! Yeah. I see where you are coming from. It's not just juice flow, it's air flow too. Mine all struggle at anything over 25 watts. Even get dry hits at lower watts (16+) sometimes, however I wick it. I modified one for more juice flow, but the air flow lets it down. Still a go to RTA for all day use though.

I run mine generally at 30 watts and don't get dry hits. Your doing something wrong, either your wicking it wrong or maybe setting your coil too low if your struggling for air

I dont get dry hits from the rba but do notice the tighter draw using it compared to the OCC heads, and am considering attempting to drill out the air in holes a tad but Stainless steel and micro drill bits are not a good combo, a drill press may be the tool needed.
someone has taken a hacksaw to the base threaded connector to emulate the OCC air in vents, but you need to go thru the thread, insulation and inner screw tube so may also be easier said than done.
