Well not large, but bigger yes. I drilled out the airhole on one of my KFL v2's and center post hole. Made it a better draw. Also gave it an almost mirror finish using the 510-510 adapters in pic below and use the polishing/buffing bit to clean and polish up copper/brass/stainless steel etc. Drill bits for metal, 2mm 2,5mm 3mm are the most useful to have (wilko's cheapies 2 pack for about £1.50 a pack) A few of those cone shaped grinding bits would take care of any burr you find or grind out the channels bigger. polishing disks or cloth like the one below some wet-n-dry and fine cutting compound will give whatever finish you like(with a little practice). actually the finish on the KFL above was just done by using wet-n-dry that has been soaked in water for 10mins before use. Start with 800 grit and end up with 1200 grit. Just attach the atty on the drill with the 510-510's and its like using a lathe(one handed mind). If you want shinier then its on to using cutting compound on a buffing wheel. will take an hour or so to do and youll end with black hands by the end of it. Thanks for the pics too; really nice shine, and the polishing cloth's great. So far have just given tanks a bit of a wipe, and a UC wash, but polishing them will be a treat. Thanks for details about drill bit sizes; good old Wilko, lol. Glad you described what the cone shaped bits are for, as, in the rotary tool kit, there's so many extra parts, lol. Very good idea to attach via the adaptor. I'd like to adapt the KF4 clones, and will definitely be sanding down the Goliath clone's juice control; will most likely order rotary kit first, over the next few days. Excited to see what it can do.

With that juice control on goliath I have just been leaving it half open. I have found if i give the tank a small twist as if i was about to take atty appart, the control ring can be moved easier and i then just tighten tank after to lock it all down. Let me know how you get on, and if you need a few pointers on how to achieve something your welcome to ask me. I may not have the answer, but If I can see a way Ill tell you what Im thinking.

just a wee heads up most attys/tanks are made of stainless steal/ss ss is ruddy hard to drill and has the nice trick of blunting drill bits just to add insult to injury if you still try to drill it with blunt bit it will heat up and get harder
so if your going to try drilling out air holes be gentle and use titanium bits
if you buying a drill look for one that comes with 2 batts if poss and defo variable speed as well as clockwise and anticlockwise turning

Good points decoy the more expensive titanium bits are much better, and are less likely to snap if the bit seizes in the hole (which can render the atty only fit for the bin). You may also consider a vice of some sort or at the very least some adjustable grips(like mole-grips or clamps that will let you hold atty in place) Dont ever hold atty in hand and try drilling even the smallest hole(it doesnt work I tried it ) one slip when putting any sort of pressure on it and it will be in your hand. BE CAREFUL WHEN TRYING THINGS FOR 1st TIME. Its a learning curve.

Thank you very much indeed hijack. Really appreciate, and will certainly ask when I do buy the rotary/drill and get at the Kayfuns. Sounds good about the juice control, and glad you've found a good way to use it. I've been finding that I have to just about loosen the entire setup to get it to move, and it's still difficult [focalecig clone]. Hand-sanding it a bit the other day was starting to make a difference, which inspired me to look around for a kit/drill, as well as knowing twisting wire will be far easier. Thanks again.

Thanks for advising; I'll make sure I get titanium bits, for sure, and that the drill/tool fits that description. I forgot: should put vice on list too!

Value my mitts very much, and had bookmarked a nice hobby vice a while back, so can add that to the drill/rotary order easily ... link. Would these bits be okay? link You're absolutely right about being careful.

The vice looks great kittyvape ive booked marked it myself to remind me I need something better than my grips. The drill bits I can only see one size you would use for an atty and that was the 2mm you might use the 4mm but that would be it. Try to find a pack that has 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4mm as I cant see you using any bigger or smaller on an airhole. But yes titanium would be better. You may find they have a set that go from 1mm to 5mm all in .5mm steps. They useually do. Like the vice ...I want one.

I'll look for those sizes instead. I should have thought of that, lol, with having the coilmaster etc.

Blackspur BB-DB146 Titanium Coated HSS Drill Bit Set These can be bought as an add-on item ofr £2.79 per pack; 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.2, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 4.8, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, so 2 packs of these would be good plus reviews are fine. Otherwise there's this: Irwin 10503991 HSS Tin Pro Drill 15 Piece Set Titanium Coated ... just 1 of each, £15.48, and lots of great reviews. "The Professional HSS Titanium coated jobbers drillbits with its 135º split point grinding ensures perfect centring and reduced drilling pressure. It has a Titanium nitride coating that reduces friction and resists wear. It has increased drill speeds of 40-60% compared to traditional bits without significantly reducing the life time of the drill bit. TiN is a poor conductor of heat, so the heat generated during the drilling process is diverted into the chips and coolant and less into the drill bit. TiN has a low coefficient of friction, resulting in less power being consumed." Sounds good.
