Rebuildable Dripping Atomiser..
Basically allows you to rebuild the perishables ie., the coil and wick easily

That's the one macca - I still haven't found anything to beat it. Brilliant device made by a really nice guy. I love the idea of an atomiser made by a retired clock maker

ok, while we are on the total-noob 'knows nothing' thread, why would i chose a cartomiser over the device shown in the youtube clip above( for my new LT)? it looks beefier, holds more liquid and according to the chap gives a bigger hit..... does it just involve maintenance as opposed to a throw-away product when finished?

Nothing is stopping you.. It does not hold more liquid..You drip between 5-10 drops on the wick and vape. You can buy a RTA which is a tank on a RDA which will hold liquid. My advise would be to try your carts first and see how you get on and settle on your favourite flavours before going for something like the Clockworks RDA. I

you dont 'need' a multimeter as a simple calculation on the length of wire to use is good enough

lol Its a simple calculation, wire is labeled with its ohms per meter divide by 100 and you get ohms per cm, then it's just how many cm you require to make the coil to your taste. eg. 50ohm per meter / 100 = .5ohm per cm- so 4cm at .5 = a 2ohm coil. That's just an example -Check the ohms per meter of the particular wire you're using and perform the same calculation.

Thanks Blakey . I am aware of the calculation..
I usually measure out the ohms with a multimeter and then cut the wire. I also use the multimeter to make sure I haven't got any shorts after I have put the coil in place.
You can also use your pinkie finger to measure the length of wire, but I wouldn't. It's not me.

Ok , you don't 'need' a multimeter. in what way was this post not helpful?? cut the wire to length will give you a more accurate result. what is the point in making things more complicated for a beginner?

My best, total technophobe advice to you James, would be . . . get your Lavatube, have it up and running, play around with the widgets you already have to get a feel for the device and see what you enjoying using on it. Then, start to look at other options if you want . . . it's tempting to go gung ho at this vaping malarkey and buy every gizmo going, goodness knows I've been guilty enough of that . . . only to find I didn't really want/need it after all.

Very sensible advice from Perpy. I wasn't suggesting getting a RDA immediately! Anyone who is interested can pm clockworks - he is a member of this forum as well. Another vid showing how to re-wick them that I found the most useful is here:
The basic model costs £32.50 incl pp, although for another £4 there are some different finishes available. They come with some wick and wire and for a few quid you can buy metres of the stuff. The beauty of them is that they will effectively last forever - you just make a new coil every few weeks which costs pence and you have something which I don't think you can beat for flavour etc.
Personally I wouldn't pay the extra £20 or so for an RTA (a similar thing with a tank added) - I had one and they are great but I prefer the RDA. It will take 10+ drops and if you want you can add a piece of fluval foam and put in even more. There is a long waiting list for the RTA but you can usually get the RDA in a week or two.
