What I think folk are failing to see is a Lipoly battery is a totally different kettle of fish when things go wrong, and they are capable of going wrong very easily in the hands of inexperienced owners..

They will be fine when just left charging throughl the board as intended, what my fear is folk getting their hands on one and then going down the route of charging it separately and not having a clue about balance charging, charge rates, over charging and depleting the battery beyond its safe limits, all can cause some serious issues, the worst being thermal runaway and venting!

As for Vapecige or whoever fitted those battery's with male connectors , clearly shows a severe lack of knowledge imo. And is lethal in the wrong hands.

Oh and a swelling Lipoly is not normal as I have seen mentioned in another forum, swelling in a sign of the battery being stressed beyond what it's capable of, and can be followed by venting.

But treated with care, and the correct equipment Lipolys are fantastic , just folk need to learn about their use.

I have written to VapeCige and re informed them of the issues in no uncertain terms. I wont be reviewing this mod as it clearly wont be well received, basic mistakes were made and if this is the 2nd version (there is no glue around the 510 in mine) it is not good. I have told them that I think they should recall the mod and replace them FOC with safe versions. Hopefully other reviewers are doing the same. This will be sent back to isabel22 if required by her.

If anyone has any FIRM info as to reported possible changes to the battery connectors, please let me know as mine, while having no glue round the 510 has the original battery connections could be the final V2, I just dont know. Maybe there is a V3. 7PM in China so not expecting any word back till overnight if at all.

I still think this would be safe with adequate warnings from the makers and possibly that battery cover security screwed down. Of the hundreds of lipo batteries I looked at on the web overnight and today(including many from "Lion Power", some on Fasttech new arrivals today) none had an unshrouded pair of connections on the battery. Really strange that these "Lion Power" ones are like this. They must have been supplied by the Lion Power company to VapeCige. Also odd that I could not find another 1800mah "Lion Power" lipo, the dimensions of which seemed to match the battery in the mod.

robby this guy reckons the 1st batch is serial < 200, don't know him from Adam so can't say how true.

Mine has 0141 on it, but supplied to Gearbest with the current stock as far as I am aware. But certainly a push fit 510 and no sign of glue anywhere in the mod VapingBad

If it was half the price I would turn a blind eye to all the issues and just buy it.
However because the price isn't in the cheaper sector either it is just pointless to buy a mod that you have to mod to make it safe!

Only if you remove the battery and unplug it. If the battery cover had been fixed as most mods are with inbuilt batteries, the problem wouldn`t arise naDiel

I don't think the mod is unsafe, unless I missed something, the disconnected battery is, but they are going to fix that forward.

The moral of the story is you are taking a risk getting the fist batch of any mod, a couple of US companies have had some problems with there early DNA200 implementations. It is always safer to wait form a few hundred or thousands are out there and problems will surface, but especially with new tech we want it now. As long as you got it from a company with good customer service you will be OK in the end and Evolv just want prof of purchase date to honour the board warranty regardless of purchase price.

I agree, I would see what the revised model is like because if they do a good job of sorting out the issues with the first batch it is a good mod , looks nice and the casing itself is very good.

We need some certainty from the makers about all this, so far it`s rumours and whispers about what has been fixed and when. The one I have is under the 0200 serial, but half fixed with the 510 connector. If anyone has heard of one with a serial over 0200 maybe that will clear it up. I love the mod, and love the look of it, just a pity these issues have been allowed to happen.


EDIT ........................ I have messaged isabel22 and asked her to check the serial numbers on their stock for over/under 0200 and then to look at the 510 and battery lead so maybe we will get an answer soon.

robby I understand where you coming from, but still I would have that nagging feeling in the back of my head that it is not 100% right if I do have to open it (hopefully it would never happen) and there are potential hazards.
But as mentioned by VapingBad I will just sit down and wait till the iron out the issues or review the price and probably then go for it

Just got this from VapeCige, all mods after serial 0200 will be fixed like this along with the 510 glue issue.
