Excellent, don't get me wrong with the issues now fixed this is a very nice mod, complete with an authentic DNA200 board which I can just describe as a real game changer in its ability to customise just about everything.

Reliability seems pretty good board wise, yeah there were a few issues with some boards but you can get that with any new product.

I can really see this board doing well, and despite the 200w limit that I have no interest in ( I have noticed these damn improvements with attys and mods the last few months I have crept up from a 14-39w Vaper , to the norm now anywhere between 30w-90

Looks like i might need to, its not shifting here  then again i could just withdraw it and keep it  its very light for its size and it lasts for days on a single charge, so its slightly larger size in the hand than i usually prefer, hmmmm,  and i may start vaping at higher than 30-75w which my smaller 1 x 18650 mods cover??..  Its a real pleasure to build on too as the SS 510 engages well with everything and has a good clean thread cut in it..

Found another possible issue here, with a shorted atty, the mod is reading 0.05 ohms. I checked out the board by shorting the connections to the 510 (at the board) and it immediately reads SHORTED ATTY.

I may have a bad 510, maybe poorly soldered. It is so hard to tell with this push fitted 510, you cant get at anything. Must have been soldered before fitting in the mod.






To recap, this is not the glued in 510 so it may be a common fault WITH THE UPDATED VERSION. It`s very difficult to see inside the cavity where the 510 is fitted. The white material you see is not silicone rubber as I thought it would be. Of course any atty you have connected will be higher resistance by 0.005 ohms. Not an issue in normal wattage use but in temp control mode it is a big difference in percentage terms. I`m going to persevere to see if I can get the white plastic cover off the 510 and investigate further Just to confirm, on my atty reading device, the shorted atty does read 0.00 ohms.

THIS IS VERY SERIOUS IN THAT IF AN ATTY SHORTS OUT, THE MOD WONT SEE IT. IT WILL READ 0.005 OHMS AND GO ON FIRING.


Having looked at the vid, this may well be glued in, I was expecting hotglue but it looks like it may be some sort of superglue, so the updated one may well be okay. Just to confirm, the grounding of the 510 does not rely on any current path through the chassis of the mod. Going to try to shift it.

On the plus side, the spring isn`t part of the current path. Not really happy about the brass ring as it was not totally tight and may have been a bad current path. Gonna test and resolder.

robby once you have it all together again you can set the internal resistance in Escribe on the Mod tab, measure the value with Atty Analyser. I put some copper from 2.5 mm T&E mains cable through a Velocity and Evolv recommend using about 80 % of the measured value.

Looks like it just needed re soldered, the wire almost pulled out of the pin with no heat, happy days. Gonna have to superglue this back in for the time being.

To be honest I don't think the capacity in either The Vapecig VT or The HCigar are as claimed ( I could be wrong with the later but usage time just does not add up with the claimed capacity )

I have been using the HCigar VT200 solely since Friday running at 40w in TC mode and getting around 5-6hrs of normal vaping before the batteries needing recharged. Now I was expecting far longer , at least a day.

The claimed capacity for the HCigar pack is 1300mah, yet doing a search for another Lipo with the same dimensions etc, and your looking at packs of 900 mah, anything higher capacity will not fit!

There were big issues in my time flying R/C with battery manufactuers making miss leading claims over capacity , C Rating etc, it looks to me so far that the same is now being played out with our latest devices.
Only other option is the Evolv board is far more power hungry than anything so far, I guess time will tell as more peeps start using them.

^The 1500 mah from the same company is exactly the same size and I cant find another reference on the web anywhere for a 1800mah battery from Lion Power

thats just crazy you get longer time outa some single 18650 on some mods well at around that wattage temp control must drain the battery faster

That was my thought as well, mods a cracker and the board does everything it says it does, but the actual run time is very poor imo, and on par with my SX Mini M class or the Snow Wolf.

We need vape batterys like old school nokia batterys charge on a monday still got power 2 weeks later while playing snake for hours a day
