Most of the posts/articles say you should dilute VG with about 10% distilled water. My VG (Dark Star) is quite thick and hard to pass through a syringe even with a big needle. I don't have any distilled water, but I do have some vodka. Will adding 10% vodka to the VG be too much vodka? Vodka I understand gives a harsher throat hit. What % should I use to thin the VG if not 10%?

I've tried vodka but found it affected the taste of the juice. I now use AG premixed from Myvapery

That's a thought too I hadn't thought of. Maybe just have to struggle on with the VG as is. Just thought I'd make life a bit easier when mixing 100ml batches.

10% Vodka here, can't say i've noticed a harsher TH but it does round off some flavours very nicely.
Why not try a small sample

Do away with the needle Bobsbeer . . . . I never ever use them and have no problems drawing up even the thickest of VG. If I'm getting to the end of a bottle and a syringe won't reach, then I just pour off some liquid into a small measuring cup ( a shot glass will do ) then draw up from that. Easy peasy.

Ah problem is though if using 100ml bottles they tend to have a narrow neck so without a blunt needle I find the neck gets blocked with VG sometimes resulting in more VG outside the bottle than in.

I (stupidly, in retrospect as I found out I don't like too much VG)...) bought my Nic in VG - and trying to use a syringe is an absolute menace spill wise, I've taken to just using a 1ml syringe - takes a bit longer but a much smaller vacuum so much less resistance... then again I only mix in 30ml at the moment....

That's the way to go Perpetua , but I've found 100ml plastic eliquid bottles (the ones with a flat screw on top and no nozzle) are perfect for decanting VG into. Very wide hole to allow plenty room for even large syringes to reach the very bottom and less faff than filling shot glasses or small measuring cups, and they can be sealed with a lid. This kind of bottle I mean
