I can well understand how these types of regulations must impose quite a high burden on small outfits. I hope that the small ones survive this and the EU regulations that seem to be heading our way.

So, where would this leave me? I only use Paypal, don't have a credit card and I don't live in the UK but I often have my goods sent to friends in the UK to bring over for me. Automatic age verification surely is impossible for international sales/customers Would I be stopped from even entering a UK based e-cig website then?

Before anyone provides their birth details check here to confirm that the online - retailer has registered for the Register of data controllers The Data Protection Act 1998 requires every organisation that processes personal information to register with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), unless they are exempt. Failure to do so is a criminal offence. There are more than 400,000 registered data controllers. We publish the name and address of these data controllers, as well as a description of the kind of processing they do. For online retailer's planning to use a global age verification company(data processor) this company would need to be registered and the online - retailer has to inform the customer the name of the data processor and obtain customer consent prior to any data transfer taking place ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/what-we-do/register-of-data-controllers/

New rules about tobacco, e-cigarettes and smoking: 1 October 2015
Published 9 July 2015
Contents 1.What the new changes are 2.Rules about smoking in private vehicles
What the new changes are
From 1 October 2015 it will be illegal: •for retailers to sell electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or e-liquids to someone under 18 •for adults to buy (or try to buy) tobacco products or e-cigarettes for someone under 18 •to smoke in private vehicles that are carrying someone under 18
Rules about smoking in private vehicles
From 1 October 2015, private vehicles must be smokefree if they are enclosed, there is more than one person present and one of them is under 18.
So it will be an offence: •for a person of any age to smoke in a private vehicle that is carrying someone who is under 18 •for a driver (including a provisional driver) not to stop someone smoking in these circumstances
The rules don’t apply to e-cigarettes.
Penalties
The fixed penalty notice fine for both offences is £50. Somebody who commits both offences could get 2 fines. Private vehicles must be carrying more than one person to be smokefree so somebody who is 17 and smoking alone in a private vehicle won’t be committing an offence.
Enforcement officers (usually the police) will use their discretion to decide whether to issue a warning or a fixed penalty notice, or whether to refer an offence to court
www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-rules-about-tobacco-e-cigarettes-and-smoking-1-october-2015/new-rules-about-tobacco-e-cigarettes-and-smoking-1-october-2015
No mention of £2500 fines
Can the op please supply a link to the UK legislation that states As of 1st October 2015 UK Law requires that before we supply e-cigarettes or nicotine orders that we get proof of age (MIN AGE 18) The new law states From 1 October 2015 it will be illegal for retailers to sell electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or e-liquids to someone under 18 •for adults to buy (or try to buy) tobacco products or e-cigarettes for someone under 18 and you must display a sign IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL TOBACCO PRODUCTS TO ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18
There nothing about a new law that requires that before you supply e-cigarettes or nicotine orders that you get proof of age
I for one will not be purchasing anything from your site

Also how would this apply for example if my orders were equiptment only, no nicotine,no eliquid? If you required age verification for muji cotton and some kanthal then it would surely effect any business selling anything that could be used in Vaping. Crazy world.

You mean they are going to age verify me at Boots? Or superdrug? Or savers for my make up pads and my 45p saturday pepsi max .

Identity theft Your identity is one of your most valuable assets. If your identity is stolen, you can lose money and may find it difficult to get loans, credit cards or a mortgage. Your name, address and date of birth provide enough information to create another ‘you’. An identity thief can use a number of methods to find out your personal information and will then use it to open bank accounts, take out credit cards and apply for state benefits in your name. ico.org.uk/for-the-public/identity-theft/

Is this law for England & Wales only, or are Scotland and NI included?

I thought I read somewhere that the rule applies to England & Wales, but I'm not 100% sure.
