A couple of weeks ago I had yet another moment on GB and bought a Subtank nano and some Ni200 coils to go on an Istick 40tc. No major problem with the set up and it runs quite nicely. Thing is instead of a second pack of 0.15 Ni200s I somehow ordered a pack of coils with a red insulator Original Kanger Nickel Alloy OCC - NICKEL ALLOY 0.2 OHM nothing listed about these anywhere besides GB and they are described as Nickel Alloy OCC for temperature control mods Pure organic Japanese cotton wicks, They are not even on the Kanger website but the serial number check pans out. Kind of confuses because like the Ni200 coils my ohm meter wont settle on a stable reading close to their rating, but in TC mode both IpvD2 and istick read them ( I've checked the whole pack) steady at .18>.22 . Any idea what have I purchased? Should i be using them in standard power mode or TC? thanks Steve

Your a star stevef cheers, you have found the elusive vertical coil Ni kanger coils the red seal is a worry ( minor one) its a very very loose convention.. and checking the materials list in the GB ad page www.gearbest.com/accessories/pp_219357.htmlits lists SS Nickel and cotton which is a good sign.. errors in data entry can occur tho perhaps its worth raising a ticket with GB to check.. tagging isabel22 may help.. Ive been searching for these so i have snuck in a quick order for some. The flavour from these vertical coils is supposed to be much richer and deeper than with the horizontal ones.. the drawback as you have probably noticed is the single part coil body, which means recoiling and re-wicking may not be possible?? tho im sure someone will work out a way..

thanks fil, I've messaged isabel and will wait for a reply. The 'elusive' vertical OCC( not easily rebuildable)coil, wow! A collectors item I hope Tbh I've only ever used the factory coils that came with my mini tanks and then used the rba, something that I wont be able to do with the nano. Can't say that I was wholy impressed with the snap, crackle, pop, dry hits and burnt cotton of the 0.5/1.2/1.5 occ. And its not just me, I built a 0.7 ohm rba for a friend who was so sick of the occ coils she was ready to start on the stinkies again.

I'v never had much joy with the OCC either, but the RBA works a treat....

I ordered these from FT, they turned out to be vertical coils (hadn't noticed on the photos), FT list then as 0.15ohm but they read 0.22ohm for me, the work very well but I've had to decrease my temp setting A LOT, also one of the coils had a rough thread (where it fits the chimney), they also have the blue o-rings

I suppose I should have reported my findings but I assumed it was my tank or mod to be honest.
I used the blue Ni200s in a subtank nano and a mini, the first two coils that I used read 0.17 and 0.18 which all things considered could be within specs, I used them with an istick 40tc so there wasn't any VW option and flavour had to be chased up and down by adjusting the temperature. But in my opinion just as muted as regular OCC.
So after finding out that they weren't 0.15 I used them anyway, generally without conviction on nights out because the battery and tank were cheap enough to carry around whilst on the lash.
Basicly I burnt one PDQ, reset the other whilst warm, lost patience and put the RBA back in with kanthal, the third coil I tried read 0.22 as did the fourth and fifth. The threads were crap on he last three and for some reason they wouldn't fit in the nano without applying loads of torque to tighten up the tank. Biggest waste of £6 so far.
Of the 0.2ohm red base coils which are not TC, four sit in the packet still and the one I tried would have been alright if it hadn't needed a fiery 60w to get it playing ball, no bells or whistles, flavour, clouds, then just what i would call typical OCC fade and gunk. And sadly not the two piece rebuildables.

Not a good time had with these then:( My own order has been fulfilled and the coils have arrived, though after reading your experiences im less keen on trying them out .. will update in here when i get round to trying them.. as is no tanks need a new coil just yet..
