Lavatube batteries

Will these fit the lavatube, I know they're not the best, but they are protected, and I only want to buy a few as cheap backup... I just wondered if they actually fit... other sellers list them as 65MM long???

they will fit but leave a 1mm gap between the casing and bottom cap but honestly they are crap - much better off with the panasonics you listed

I am definitely getting the panasonic ones, even though I will get some with the lavatube... But I was thinking because I can pick 4 of these up for less than £9, linky it might be worth having some around aswell. I'm guessing you strongly disagree?

I just read this

Ultrafire proved to be pretty dire as expected. The 2400mAh protected and 2600mAh performed reasonably well, coming out well ahead of the supposedly higher capacity offerings.

What wasn't expected was under the wrapper of Ultrafire 3000mAh, 3600mAh and 4000mAH a shiny new cap has been fitted. When this is removed, it is clear that they are reclaimed laptop batteries. The spot welds of the tabs can be seen on the base and positive terminal. In the example below, they haven't even bothered to remove all of the tab:

I can recommend the second link you put in , the guy selling them is aka torchy boy and has a pretty good reputation for quality batteries , I have had 2 sets of the batteries you linked to and have no complaints whatsoever, I even asked if I could have an extra box to keep them in which he supplied for freemans

i have the pannys and they have been great ...they arnt protected so i wont use them in my GG but for the lavatube i get at least 1¹/₂ days out of a charge

Been using them pannys in the lavatube for a couple of weeks now just to see how well they performed as a cheaper option and I have to say that they are holding up very well so far. I don't really take them above 4.5v so I'm not really putting them under much strain but they give me about 30% more run time than the AW IMRs, not bad for the price

I have the Panny 3100mAh and although they lasted amazingly for a while I'm not happy with them now - they don't hold 4.0v for very long and once they go down to 3.7v I need a fresh one.

However, my LT has been a little flaky almost since the start, it seems the button doesn't always connect. I could have returned it if only I would have

Must admit I'm not keen on the idea of unprotected batts, a bit of liquid and it could all get nasty. Much happier with s/c protection at the very least, personally.

So what would be a good value protected battery with decent LT running time please?

I have some protected 1400mAh on the way which I expect will be OK for backup.

if used in your shiny new lavatube the lavatube will take care of the protection for you risky

AW, panasonic, sony and sanyo are all good names in the battery business

Yeah I know but short circuit protection is definitely a plus. I have been known to accidentally launch pints of tea across a room.

I'll see how I get on with the ones I've ordered, but I'll be looking for some higher capacity ones I expect.
