yeah it could be the profiles in the koopor+ mod, its defaulted to tc-ss316 at a tcr of 1070 (which is rather high given that 317 is supposedly 940)and it could just be that ive got the tcr setting wrong but I cant seem to change the wattage setting for temp mode, strang ething is the mod works perfectly on the tc-ni settings with tanks using both the stock kanger ni200 coils and the home wound ni200 coils, perhaps I should just use that instead on the crius as I have done with the subtank's, maybe its the mod though rather than the build, certainly i'll give it another go when the rolo arrives (which given the time frame for dispatch is likely to be sometime around easter..... still its is less than half its rrp) also it did the same overkill on the evic mini and burning of the e-juice although at a much lower total watts throughput before jumping to power mode and nukeing the coils with a 40w fixed power settings ...maybe its just the haywire I've got maybe its something else.... meh tomorrows build will be ni200 at least I know its workable even if its more fragile /

If it were me with different SS profile to the stuff I had to hand, I would use the nearest SS profile on the mod, turn the temp right down and work my way up until it gave me a good vape. Chances are the TC will cut in just fine once the wick starts to dry. It may not be anywhere near the "displayed" 470F (or whatever you prefer) but that`s largely irrelevant. It will only do that if the TCR profile is spot on. I think with the majority of TC mods, the most trustworthy screen reading will be the wattage and maybe resistance. The screen temperature is a result of the computed maths in the chip which depend totally on accurate TCR settings for the coil/metal used. Use the force .............................. or suck it and see

I'm using 316L Stainless Steel 24AWG in an Aeolus Lite. On an Evic Mini with its standard SS profile it's been working fantastically in TC mode.

yeah I was trying to use ss317L but the mod only has a ss316Lprofile, I adjusted the tcr value down from the 107 to 094 and set the temp to 380 on normal strength it sent a flame puff straight through the drip tip and then melted the coils ..... the cotton was just fine but I was missing about half a tank of juice in under 10 seconds of pulling the fire button whereupon it displayed the check atty message .... i'll wait for the 316L wire and the 36gauge ni200 and see if either of them works / perhaps its my own fault for trying something on a mod that's generally getting slatted for anything other than ni200

you know it never occurred to me to not change the tcr values in the mod to match them with the wire type, next time I build i'll try that and see if it behaves better, but from reading on the koopor forum it seems there is major problems with anything other than ni200 or standard power mode use for the plus mod, of course it doesn't help that the mini has more problems and there are zero intelligible instructions available ..... to be honest I expected more from Smok but its a new offshoot brand so I guess they will fix things in a few months or with the next release /

charliehorsei believe that the number changes based on the mod your using, i took the number from the koopor website and it matched the number given by the wire vendor, that it might not be correct had crossed my mind and your figure could be more accurate

nanotm I wouldn't have thought it should change at all based on what mod you were using, its the temperature coefficient resistance of the wire. Though if that's what the wire vendor is saying as well then it should be right enough for the grade supplied. I was just going on a google search from a month or two ago when I was looking in to it and all the sites I found said 317 SS was 088. Out of interest, which vendor did the wire come from ?

nanotm - I had a look at that link but couldn't see any TCR values, so had another search about the internet and the value given varies depending which site you look at. Probably better going with robby suggestion above

Richard46 yeah it was normally I would buy a larger roll off stealthvape for that price but I didn't want to get left with a huge amount of useless wire if it didn't work out, I checked crazy on amazon but their price wasn't any cheaper at the time I placed the order, charliehorse hmm it seems the tcr level changes with the awg, as well as type of wire and so on, doesn't help that the koopor plus mod is a bit backwards and requires an external programmer unit in order to hook up to a pc to set the values or change firmware, rather makes me think that the units are prototype pre sales devices with a lower end chip in that originally desired especially given all the problems ive seen reported are around it switching from tc to power mode mid fire and defauting ot fireing at 200w in tc mode.... perhaps I will just stick to power mode with kanthal until I get a better mod, well i'll still use the ni200 in tc on the dovpo forever 30w even if the mod is barely capable of hitting the temp limit @ full power setting....
