I consider my path to "mostly" be upgrades too.
I did spend a while buying the "latest" shiny thing though.
I started with one of the old pen style things, with a CE4. That lasted about 8 hours before ordering up a Vamo and Protank combo. That satisfied me for a while, then bought a SID (which I still have, and the Vamo, plus another Vamo for doomsday purposes that is unused). I then moved onto an MVP, MVP V2 before the first "big" splash on a DNA 20, which soon became a DNA 30.
I then spent a while building a collection of Mechs and RDA's and RTA's (like my collection of Kayfuns). Before coming back to regulated vaping.
Now I swap between two devices mostly. An iStick 50w, which is still going strong, having been used daily since release, and my DNA 40 vaporflask clone, again, used almost daily since release. And my Snowwolf 200w gets a very occasional look in. And that was my last mod purchased. And, in fact, I haven't bought a single tank either since getting my 2 subtank mini's. They just work for me, and that is generally enough.
That being said, I recently splashed out on an RX200w, and whatever that genuine DNA 40 was for £40 the other day (my plan is to swap the board into my nucleic DNA30 if I don't like the mod, since it was basically cheaper than the board itself). I may well get a DNA 200w too, just to see what the crack is.
But I don't foresee purchasing any more gear next year, unless something breaks, or there is a complete game changer comes on the market. Until then, my inner geek will be satisfied.
In all fairness though, I do have some relatively nice gear here. And I don't think I have sold a single thing since I started. Came close once or twice, but don't think I have (happy to be proven wrong though).

xs2man have you tried a Bellus or Aromamizer? These are a huge upgrade from the subtank. I thought I was more than satisfied with mine until I tried these!

Completely agree decoy I always do lots of research first and take the opinion of a few trusted reviewers before buying anything. All of my old/redundant kit gets sold or given away to fledgling vapers so it's all put to good use.

I have been pretty happy so far with the subtanks to be honest, and haven't felt the need to try something else. That having been said, I just received a couple emails this morning, and looks like I had ordered a OBS CRIUS V3 over the holiday period (and not realised, must lay off the vodka). So that will be the first new tank in over 6 months for me. I also ordered a Twisted Messes RDA with a Cloupor Mini 30w I ordered for my Mother (from Gearbest). I also ordered some new coils for my subtank mini's. Anyway, that should keep me going for a while. If I do feel the need to try another tank, I'll look at whats hot when I am looking. In the meantime, I am pretty happy now. Somewhere I didn't think I'd be 18 months ago when I was buying up everything I could. (Although I was buying a heap of kayfuns then. And actually, I just bought a Kayfun V4 off here too now I remember).

Not tried a Cirius myself but I'm sure you'll notice the difference as these new generation tanks all outdo the subtank IMO. I find the draw on the subtank way too tight now which is weird as I was happy with it for so long!

I have a UWell crown coming that a friend of mines recommended. (as it has great stock coils, compared to the hit and miss of the kangers) He also recommend the Mutank for those who like an airy draw. Not tried either so I can't say myself! Will let you know how the crown is in a day or two though.

Better airflow, airflow direct to the coils, decks that enable you to build dual coils, bigger juice capacity, top filling (in the case of the Bellus), velocity deck (Aromamizer).

Well this is a subject I can chime in on. Hi to anyone who remembers me, I haven't been here for a long time but this place was a great help to me when I started out.
I dropped out of the vaping world but continued vaping because I found what I need. A VAMO, a SID and lots of juice I liked. I was done 'exploring'.
The VAMO finally blew up, the button on the SID stopped working, so now I have an istick 60 which I love and a Kanger Subox thing sort of a set that came with a Subtank nano which I also love. Two great mods and a great tank. I also bought a Subtank mini and I love that too though I prefer the nano for flavour. So I'm glad I jumped back into the whole thing but now I have done that I will buy an Evic mini as that looks like the kind of thing currently fashionable that also floats my boat then I am done again.
I am posting this to answer the OP and also for the benefit of Catface who I believe will eventually understand that the best vaping equipment is the stuff that does EXACTLY what you want it to and steps you out of the whole 'I need the next best thing' scene. I know already from his posts that he will disagree but I thought I would put it out there.
Finding a juice I can vape for a long time has always been much, much harder than finding equipment that gives me a good vape, just my thoughts on it all. Hope you all had a great XMAS and are looking forward to a great new year.
Silent.

I completely understand that it is entirely subjective and to some people, whatever they are happy with now, will be the pinnacle of vaping for them. That's fine but all I'm saying is that the technology is continuing to evolve no matter what. I appear to be getting vilified for following and appreciating this curve so I'm just lightheartedly fighting my corner. I don't believe I do just buy the next big thing on the market otherwise my collection of kit would be WAY bigger than it is now. Which happens to be 4 tanks, 3 drippers, 2 mods and 1 mech. Considering the plethora of stuff out there this is a tiny amount. And has still cost me way less than if I was smoking 20 a day.

Wot works for Me?... Dead Luddite:- Abaddon parallel '650 box mech or a Nemi, Origen drippers set up wiv 2mm S/S rope & 2x 2.5 mm 1ohm 26gauge coils (or pre-made coils when lazy!!). All FT clones. Origenny & Next-Gen Tanks for out & about. Oh, Kraken & Owl Squonker also, but same builds! This'll do Me!...prob. only purchases I can envisage will be duplications of the Abaddon & batteries. Tanks, cotton & 'fancy' coils are past-tense now.....blame My gunky diy NETs!!!

I appear to be getting vilified for following and appreciating this curve so I'm just lightheartedly fighting my corner. A bit strong. You're just being asked to justify some comments. The implication being if you don't jump on the bandwagon you are missing out. If you like something that's fine. For you. There are different tastes. Some are cloud chasers, some flavour. Others both. The only thing that I'm waiting for is an improvement in battery technology. In many areas. Have a look around to see how many chargers are on the go in your house.

There's no bandwagon involved. We're all in the same vaping boat. I'm not trying to show off or anything or accuse anyone of being in the wrong. I'm just sharing my experience and opinion of it.
