I just don't get the need to rush like lemmings to spend even more money! Crazy.

Frankly I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than contemplate going there at most times of the year, let alone over the Christmas/New Year season . . . . . have we as a nation become so obsessed in our quest for a bargain and the desire to shop, that nothing else matters. Perpetua ... the words 'pot' and 'kettle' spring to mind

I just don't get the need to rush like lemmings to spend even more money! Crazy. because now is the best time of year to start buying for the coming year's worth of pressies, so far I have the wrapping paper gift tags tape and stickers finished, I have managed to grab a bunch of random stocking fillers and replaced a few dowdy looking decorations ready for the loft until next needed, I will start grabbing items to put into the haul for my family as well, birthday season starts in a couple of weeks so why pay over the odds by waiting till later on when I can grab a bargain now and put it aside for when needed ? so far I have spent a total of 4 hours shopping since xmass eve (spent more time reading on here than shopping) and have managed to spot several more things I might want to bag if the price goes low enough or I get a coupon code sent to me for them. I cant honestly understand the reticence some people show towards getting things organised ahead of schedule, and besides if I don't find the stuff when its cheap the OH will only go and pay highstreet icon_shoppingm for it later in the year, she doesn't do the interwebz unless I send her the links maybe that's becasue I don't give her the passwords to all the shopping accounts but then again she would only when the prices were too high for her likeing or the postage time was too long

Well I'm off to work today 9-6.30pm shift That's some shift Mandy, 9.5 hrs! I take my hat off to you. Jim Thank you Jim. I was in at 8.30am and left at gone 7pm this evening as it's been mega busy today! Frankly I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than contemplate going there at most times of the year, let alone over the Christmas/New Year season . . . . . have we as a nation become so obsessed in our quest for a bargain and the desire to shop, that nothing else matters. Perpetua ... the words 'pot' and 'kettle' spring to mind Nah . . . I do as little shopping from actual B&M stores as is humanly possible Raffles , that's why websites and courier/delivery services were invented as far as I'm concerned.

I made mayo over the weekend with my first farm eggs from the butcher - proper shopping... Use B&M stores (especially locally owned) or else they die and then your high street dies or just becomes full of poundshops, betting shops and charity shops Rant over

We only went out to the shops properly yesterday. I didn't buy a thing . Hubby bought some Oil in Halfords. I wanted the Aspire Quest kit before christmas, called in the b&m shop that had them but the Gold one had gone . My fault really didn't ask them to keep one on the side, promised they would get one in when they next go to the wholesaler. Noticed last night though Creme de Vape's offer now struggling with which one to go for again. anubis

I've never agreed with the shops opening on Boxing Day, there's no need and it just isn't fair for the staff. Whatever was wrong with having January Sales? However, I was rather pleased that the local Homebase was open when faced with a broken toilet seat. I even got one half price
