Personally, I'm not that concerned as most top teams have their 'golden' spell. I've made this post really to acknowledge the absolute grace and professionalism that Manuel Pellegrini has dealt with the recent weeks and months of speculation on his future. Never seen an interview with him where he wasn't cool, and did not say one negative word about the club that was about to ditch him for 'flavour of the month'. Unlike so many other managers. I'm sure he'll be an asset to any other top club and won't be out of work for long. As for 'Pep', we shall see, it'll be interesting to say the least. But, as Jose Mourinho has found out, you can't live on your reputation forever... you have to keep delivering. I bet the United fans are spitting feathers.

I think Mourinho will end up at Utd before long. You're probably right, but do they replace one 'tarnished' legend with another. Interesting times if you're a footie fan, which I'm not... just like the hysteria of it all.

I remember when the other Manchester side got in a World class manager . I can't see them dominating, there are other clubs that are just as good and as for Europe, well their pedigree is lacking there and it shows.

Hmmm i dont think mourinhos footballing tactics suit utd...let alone his persona. I dont think utd will want that aggro. Just my opinion of course.
I think as a country we should be giving our english managers more chances to move up...but as footie is a business now, they wont get the chances. Sadly.

The problem is that all the clubs these days is that they ditch their managers before they have had a real chance to settle in. The rush for instant trophies makes it difficult for anyone. Look at MU. They, or is that the press, want van Gaal to go, yet before he arrived they feted him as the best thing since sliced bread. All credit to Pellegrini for the way he has handled things. The sad part is that there can only be one winner, but all the top teams feel it is their right to be the top because they have spent the most. I think if we have learned anything recently, is that money does not always buy you glory. A lesson still being learned by some I think. Having said all that I will admit to not knowing anything about football, so my opinion has to be taken with a handful of salt.

Scottish managers; Sir Matt Busby, Sir Alec Ferguson and Bill Shankley.
Possibly the three greatest managers British football has ever seen and it will ever see.
Football is now for mercenary foreign managers; stay a couple of seasons and onto the next 'project'.
Wenger is an exception.

I can City winning the league for the next couple of seasons.
Also the Jose would fit Man United like a glove, would be able to regain there air of arrogance.

Impressed at how things are going at the Lane , as for the others Tease-smiley Good young manager with tactical awareness and a hard working team. Good formula for success. Sadly I doubt Kane will stay. Mega bucks of Chelsea or City.

Simple answer no. Pep will stay for three years then wander off. Winning things at Barca, with that team of players was and still is easy. Winning the one horse race German league with the one horse another doddle. English league has a few more teams who can win, they play more games than other leagues, no break for winter and crappy weather. He will win things but will not match his past high standards.
As for United the glory days are over for now, badly run, badly managed and the dullest football in their history.

I'd give Pep 18 months to two years. He will not be able to replicate success he has previously enjoyed. Top players ie Messi won't fancy England. Why run the risk of failure when in LA Liga the man is a God. Falcao is a good example. Sanchez is an exception.
