So instead of vaping our beloved nicotine, it is now possible to vape caffeine, as ex smokers we all know the fag and a brew draw that makes stopping smoking so difficult. But could the vaping of caffeine be a way out of the nicotine addiction without any loss of the "hit". Actually, the nicotine and caffeine link has been established for a good few years. I have not heard of it. I have some on the way to try and will feedback to you all on this. But if I can break the nic habit who knows. www.killthecan.org/your-quit/smok...ernatives/tobacco.ucsf.edu/nicotine-not-caffeineAbstract The interactive effects of caffeine and nicotine were studied in twelve subjects. Mood and physiologic responses to the pharmacologic components nicotine and caffeine were measured, while controlling for the sensory/behavioral aspects of smoking and coffee drinking. Two experimental sessions presented a caffeine x nicotine design, with caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee followed at thirty-minute intervals by controlled inhalations of nicotine and nonnicotine smoke. Results showed that there was a significant interactive effect of caffeine and nicotine on subjective arousal such that nicotine decreased arousal only in the presence of caffeine. These findings extend previous work showing interactive effects of caffeine and self-titrated doses of cigarette smoke in affecting subjective arousal. The effects of nicotine on subjective arousal may, therefore, depend not only on nicotine dose, but also on the presence of caffeine. Heart rate was increased by nicotine and both systolic and diastolic blood pressures were elevated by caffeine. Caffeine also potentiated the increase in diastolic blood pressure resulting from smoke inhalations, but this occurred irrespective of nicotine dose. www.tmbnotes.co.uk/#!shop/cw9f

Why bother with vaping it, I've heard it makes a very fine refreshing alternative to Tea.

Consider the TPD and the possible control of nicotine that they may or may not be planning. I dont know how this pans out, but its a different vaping experience (possible).
Many now vape because they like it and are down to 0 nic or 3mg nic so this may just add a little something. Just throwing it out and about for people.

Very interesting So is the idea that caffeine isn't as addictive as nicotine so easier to drop the habit all together once converted? Or is the idea to beat the incoming laws? Or both? Are we saying caffeine will give us the same kind of hit? Sorry I just need a bit of clarification in layman's terms

have a look at the kill the can link. They have been using it for years for those hooked on chewing nic gum etc. I dont know the roads it takes, but it is an interesting development in vaping.

Hmmm yeah there's a lot to sift through so maybe tomorrow I kind of like the idea but feel as I'm on 3mg and planning on making 2mg mixes next then I think I'm on the right path already. It is interesting though and may well help others

Perhaps my senses, along with a great many other things have become dulled over the years . . . . but I didn't notice any difference whatsoever vaping a caffeinated eliquid when I tried it. However as well we all know, everyone reacts differently, so it might be more noticeable/effective for others. It was also a good few years ago that I tried Doppio, whether a few years on with my system being ' clearer ' of smoking I might find otherwise . . . . dunno, but I don't feel in a rush to try must confess.

The thing I am seeing here is that if new laws bring big taxes on liquid then this could be a better way forward. But I suspect if it did kick off in a big way that the powers that can would just dream up crap to regulate and tax this also

It's a nice idea but unfortunately won't work.
***SCIENCE BIT***
You can't directly replace nicotine with caffeine, they are two different types of chemical that work on two different receptors in the body.
Caffeine is a CNS stimulant that blocks adenosine attachment to G-protein coupled receptors (responsible for drowsiness) whereas nicotine is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist. It would be a bit like trying to replace a crack addiction by swapping to heroin - you would develop 2 addictions rather than one.
NB: Vaping juice with caffeine in it doesn't work because the volumes are so small.

The above explanation no doubt explains why when I smoked I still had three cups of coffee, and probably as many fags, in the morning and still drink the same amount of coffee now that I vape. Even though I have come down from 30mg nic to 4mg in just over a year, I still need my coffee in the mornings.
