Hi everyone! Firstly, go glad I found this forum, as there's so much choice out there. I'm a rollie smoker, about ten ish a day, and am looking to make the switch. I'm just so confused with all the choice, and am looking for some advice on what to buy. I was looking at the 510 Carto Kit on vape escape as a starting point and wondered if anyone else had tried these. I like the look of them, but my only query is over the battery. As a fairly light smoker I don't need a heavy duty battery life, but just wondered roughly how long it would last, i.e. is it x hours of puffing or it just lasts x hours regardless of use? I also wondered what rating of nicotine to go for, as my rollies are quite thin anyway, I use the extra slim filter tips. Also, can any liquid be used in them? I bought my gran a cartridge one before but they ran out of stock on refills which was very annoying, so I think the carto and liquid type ones would be better. Also, how long does a carto thing last before it needs replacing also? Your help and advice is much appreciated!!!

Hello & welcome to the forum Missratty. I've got to go out shortly so forgive my short reply . . . I'm sure other lovely members will be along soon to advise you further. As you're a light smoker, I'd maybe consider a SDkeyring from Vape Escape . . . it would be worth buying 2 as you'll need something when your one battery is on charge. www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Basic+Vaping+Kits+%3E+SD+KeyRing+EcigThere's a choice of two flavour cartomiser's, which you can then refill with juice of your choice. Use the code allaboute for a 10% discount.

Hi and welcome to the forum
I made the move from about 10-12 rollies a day to ecigs 5 weeks ago. I started with both a Joye 510 mini and an ego (2 of each).
I quickly got frustrated with the 510 mini's. You get about 70-80 5 second drags on them per battery, which sounds a lot, and if you have 10-15 puffs then stopped (like on a conventional tabacco cig) you might get the equilivant of 5-6 cigarettes. However I ave found personally I don't vape like I smoked. For one thing in the evening I chain vape sometimes for a couple of hours (an 510 mini ecig lasts me about 15-20 minutes if I chain on it. However they do look a bit like a regular cigarette, so worth considering. I quickly bought more batteries and. 5 pint multi charger so I could charge them all a once.
The 1100mA ego batteries offer must better performance and one of these will last 2-3 hours of chain vaping.
There are lots of models out there and it's all about the mA's.
Regarding the nicotine to get. You will need a few different strengths. Go for 24mg (might also be written as 2.4%) and some 18mg. 24mg may seem very strong, but you need to consider that vaping is not as efficient as smoking Tabacco as the particles are much larger. Some people say that you will absorb about half as much nicotine when vaping. Add to this the fact your technique will be poor to begin with and if your switching totally over to ecigs you are going to have a fair amount of anxiety going on.
Most importantly of all get enough supplies too last you a few weeks - this includes atty/carts, ejuice and batteries. You cannot just pop to the shops if you run out.
Anyway good luck.

Hi and welcome to the forum The 510 is for me a very limited bit of kit, not the most versatile and you will prob need to upgrade before long. If you go for the SDK it is also an automatic battery so you only need to suck without pressing a button, some people love these little ecigs and are very pleased with them, you would need two, one on charge whilst your using the other, as Perpy says you just need to chose a flavour. www.vapeescape.co.uk/the%2Dsd%2Dkeyring%2Decig%7E266You can keep on buying pre-filled cartos to screw onto them or fill your own with juice flavours of your choice. The Riva, is more than likely the most favoured ecig by new vapers and old vapers www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Deluxe+Vaping+Kits+%3E+Riva%2DT+Tank+Kit its versatile, lasts a long time, easy, and you can use so many things on it Just chose a colour you like. Juices, at vape escape you will find loads of different juice to pick, the best way to find flavours you like is to go for their pic n mix www.vapeescape.co.uk/search.asp?types=Grizwald%27s+Gourmet+Range+%3E+Pick+%27n%27+MixAs mentioned earlier use the discount code to get some money off If your still unsure, keep asking, we all know how confusing this vaping can be to new comers but dont worry, we have all been there but once you do decide what to go for, it is suprisingly easy to get used to

The code "allabout" works do not use the quote marks, there is no "e" on the end.

So you don't advise the 510 carto? Is that based on battery life? I was preferring the sound of one where you don't need to fiddle with buttons as well, an automatic type one. I'll just be using this to replace the nasties, so don't intend on making more use of it as my goal is to quit in about a year's time. That said, I'm also going to be retaining my current habits, I.e. Vaping outside etc. which leads me to my next query as I look outside...can I use it in the rain?? Thanks so much everyone, it really is a minefield, so your help is really appreciated.

BTW this looks like a great kit, I'm now using the Visions almost exclusively, I currently have one that's been going for over 3 weeks and still vaping well. After 3 or 4 fills I rinse them out with warm water, blow through to dry then re-fill and off I go again. This kit is so "faff free" ideal for all.

This kit has a button battery but it becomes second nature really quickly. As it's a 510/Ego battery it will be a great platform to upgrade from. The SD Keyring is great, I have one but it was never designed to be a primary vaping device, it was designed for occasional use and for a newbie you really have to be careful of the automatic switch which is really easy to damage if you overfill your cartridges. I defiantely recomment the above kit for you.
