I can only go on my own experience. Initially I found that 24mg suited me and I was on that for about 18 months when I decided to try reducing the nic level. I dropped it 2mg to 22mg and within a couple of days I was dreaming during the night that I was smoking again. Within a week I was craving cigarettes. As soon as I went back on the 24mg, all the dreams and cravings stopped. Now I had the same reactions when I had previously tried to stop smoking. Everyone is different and everyone will find their own way forward with vaping, but, for me, 24mg is just dandy and, hopefully the next time anyone sees me smoking, I will be halfway up the crematorium chimney. One of the problems we see on here about folks who cut down their nicotine intake either to very low levels or even to nil levels, is the long term results of such "experiments". Where are the No Nic MGers of a year down the line? How are they doing? Are they still No Nics? Are they back to their former Nic Levels? Was it worth the trying? Until we know the overall results, speculation of what might be achieved is just that. Speculation! I'll let you know in November

I started on 18mg and over a period of 18 months reduced to around 10mg (DIY) now for the last few months I've been on 6mg quite comfortably. Only due to being sent some 6mg juice to try by Romney, after 3/4 days on 6mg I went back to 10mg and my legs felt like two strands of boiled spaghetti, had to grab a seat before I went flat on my arse. Like all things vape related, there's no right or wrong for me. Some people may be motivated by setting targets, they may meet them, they may not, but that is how they view their situation. Me, I won't be setting any targets as I feel that would put me under pressure to achieve that target and not meeting it would be classed as a kind of "failure". The only target I set for myself was to stop smoking tobacco and lessen my chances of another heart attack. It will be five years on the 13th of October this year since I smoked my last cigarette. But I still take it one day at a time. Whether it's 0mg or 30mg that keeps us off the stinkies, who cares. Vape on, Vape happy.

We are all different, I dropped very very gradually to zero nic, at 0.3 mg increments IIRC once I go below 4 mg, 2 mg increments when I started at 18 mg. I then had a couple of 40 Marlboro Red binges so went back on nic as there is virtually no danger being a lifetime nic consumer. That doesn't mean it won't work for other people.
I have just dropped from 7 mg to 5 mg and have to have a tank with 7 mg around although it it too strong for my style for vaping I just feel I need it now and again.

Is it just me,and my mind,or does anyone think that when you vape lower nicotine it changes the flavour of the juice? I vape 6mg usually, and 3mg when Sub ohming.I tried a 0mg juice that I usually vape at 6mg.And found it did,nt taste the same.

I think the difference in taste if just the missing pg amount, normally I use 70% vg but a few times I have mixed at 60% or 50% and it does change the flavour a bit, only thing i wont take at high pg is menthol juice because its way to harsh

I've got about 7 litres of 2mg to vape now but I think I'll start making 1mg in the next year. In 2 years from now I'm aiming for zero

Currently happy on 3mg, sub-ohming and DL inhales; my wife is on the same, but MTL. I may try mixing at 2.5mg or even 2mg at some point, but I agree with the poster above who said that 0mg has something lacking. This mild throat hit and difference in taste puts me off vaping 0mg at the moment, but that may change along the line somewhere!

Good point Romney , I don't find a marked difference in taste at say 10mg to 6mg but I do at 18mg to 6mg, but my legs can definitely tell the difference . Again, you have to consider that taste is subjective and the difference might be more noticeable to some people.

I Agree striker42,i should have maybe worded it better, and said does anyone find the flavour changes at the bottom end of the Nicotine scale.Cause I find the same,i never noticed any change at 10mg-6mg,just the 0mg.My legs would be like Spaghetti to if I tried 12mg again, hahaha.I smoked 40-50 a day when at work for 30 years, and the first day of vaping tried 18mg as was recommened. It just spaced me out and I never slept fo 36 hours. So tried 12 mg and worked down from there. So yeah everyone is different.

Maybee a noticeable difference at Zero Romney from any nicotine whether it be 3mg, 6mg etc. Cannot comment on that as never tried 0mg. Might rustle some up and give it a go to see. But that will be tomorrow coz I'm enjoying a tank of 6mg goose juice at the minute with a few tins of Kopparberg. Cheers.

I have read that flavourart biteXtra (Flash Hit) enhancer replicates the slight nicotine hit and that some vapers on zero mg use it, not tried it myself but its an idea?

Although it's possible, as nic seems to give a slightly peppery taste for some. More likely is, the lack of nicotine makes your brain reject it. Along the lines of methadone for heroin users. It just isn't the same. The brain plays these tricks on all addicts.

I've been running my own experiments by randomly labelling some zero nic diy mixes as having nicotine in them. I now can't tell the difference between the ones that actually have nic and the ones that say they do. I do believe it's all in our heads. Nicotine from tobacco.....highly addicitive due to all the things added to make the brain open specific receptors for it. Nicotine added to eliquid......probably not addictive at all. Here's an interesting article on it: www.ecigarette-politics.com/is-nicotine-addictive.htmlAnd what Pepperty said about bitextra (Flash) is good advice. As long as you have something to give you the throat hit you probably wouldn't miss nicotine at all if you left it out. Menthols or sharp citrus eliquids are also good nic-habit breaking juices too.

Interesting article kreed. While I have been able to drastically cut down my nic intake, with no apparent side effect or cravings for more, it must have done something, especially in the early days to replicate the benefits we gained from smoking, yet remove the cravings. I had no desire to smoke, only the desire to keep my hands busy rolling a cigarette. It felt strange not doing that. Once that faded, I was home and dry. I firmly believe the weaning off has been the key for me. Gradually allowing my body to get accustomed to less and less nicotine. At what point the body wouldn't miss it I don't know. Could you go to zero from 12mg, or 6mg or 3mg without noticing I don't know. The amount vaped hasn't gone up despite the decrease in nicotine, so it must be that I am slowly reducing my dependence. Maybe now it is just the habit I need to kick. I seem to have gone full circle. I'm back to, what do I do with my hands bit. Maybe I should start compulsive washing up, or hoovering. Do they do a shiney Henry?
