Full marks to the police & MU for the swift dealing with this incident.

Also full marks to the security company boss for 'putting his hands up' so quickly and taking responsibility.

It was a mistake, lessons learned, and probably a 'wake up' call in light of the Euros around the corner, plus a damned good training session when no-one was pre-warned.

Just wish the media would stop looking for 'scapegoats' just to make a story, and hang people out to dry.

Sadly, these sort of public places are always going to be a target somewhere and someday.

Surely the company that left the fake bomb there 'by accident' would have tried to get in touch with someone at the club when everything started to kick off? It would have been easy enough to describe the exact location it was in.

Tendency to demolish an awful lot of beer stocks. Thats what I remember of them in RAF Germany. Plus a lot of red flag waving and big explosions in the distance. That was them dealing with our UXB's generally. Quiet folk though?

I have a load of B/W pics from the 60's taken by their official photographer. Some bombs and an awful lot of us and them round tables swigging beer noshing hahnchen and pommes frites usually. They often appeared because we ran the Nordhorn bombing range in Germany. Not so much them scared, more us because the trucks they appeared with were loaded and red flags flying.
