And are you all ready for the bad news part on this dream
According to a member on another forum, from my understanding of what they have said EU law trumps any UK laws So even if the house of lords vote against the laws, the EU law stands The UK can be fined for not abiding by the law
So we have some European countries trying to stop e-cigs because of all the taxes they loose through the falling cigarette sales and bring in the new legislation
And even if our own country wanted to ignore it, they cant
Sod our health and our right to free choice
I made sure all my family are registered to vote for the European exit today

The EU do not make laws, they make directives and the directive does not go way, however the UK law does. If there is no law then there can be no prosecution In the current BREXIT climate it seems unlikely the EU will immediately fine the UK due to the Brexit sentiment.

If the Lords are successful; According to ashtray-blog: "Technically the EU could start “infraction proceedings” against the UK for not fully implementing Article 20, but this would prove bad timing. This is not the time encourage anti-EU sentiment!"
I believe that this is more important and worth the risk of a fine.

So EU don't make laws They make directives which are just similar to laws and can carry fines for not being followed The EU wont pursue the fines if the directives are ignored because of brexit
What happens after the brexit vote
If we stay in the EU The same people that support the directive, wont give a toss and either push for implementation of the directive or want their blood money Lots more people suffer from smoking related diseases and health issues, that get robbed of the chance of the choice or chance to vape
Or we exit the EU No more directives And the UK has the option to pass its own laws No threats of fines

... Or we exit the EU No more directivesAnd the UK has the option to pass its own laws No threats of fines I don't want this to turn into a BREXIT debate (there's a place elsewhere on the forum for that), but the TPD has already been passed in UK law (20th May), so even if we BREXIT the TPD will still be there, unless the House of Lord's support and vote for Lord Callanan's motion.... or the government sees it a priority to do something about it, but I guess things will be quite busy on other priorities if there is a BREXIT.

All I can say is GO GO Lord Callanan Not often I say that about a Conservative, but this is a worthy exception.

I think people can see your concerns Lee, but the most important thing for us as vapers at the moment, is getting the Lords to support the fatal motion. The rest we will deal with as and when it happens in the future.

If you've signed the petition (only takes a minute).... please also share too with friends, family, Facebook, Twitter, however you can, asking them to support by signing & sharing too. Maybe also ask your vape shops / vendors to use their mailing lists / websites to promote the petition if they haven't already? There are supposed to be 2.8 million vapers in the UK; 42,000 supporters is so far only 1.5%.... we need to reach as many as possible, and quickly.

I find this so frustrating the line could just as easily have said, and been just as accurate if it had stated "E-cigarettes are still 'a bet' but diseases may not emerge within 10 or 20 years, says Imperial College " They tell the truth, we don't know, but spin is just irritating.
