VapingBad I haven't fessed up because I have absolutely no idea how much I've spent hence my question to see if others had a better handle on things. As your likely aware I quit a couple of weeks ago and I'm working up go buying a big old storage box to tidy nearly everything away. When I do that I'll have a stab at rotting things up. At least I have the benefit of selling very very little on so what I've bought I still have, even if it's turned its toes up I didn't know that you'd stopped vaping Greg ...you won't stop coming here will you? I'm a bit flabbergasted, & I don't even know why I feel that You must have overlooked This thread gill2009

Not the faintest idea. I still dual fuel but it is a lot less than the stinky things I'd have burned.

Now that is a question. Spent I reckon at least £3000 bit I think I've had at least £3000 for free as well so add £2000 of the stuff I actually liked that gives us a grand total of £5000 which has to be, has to be less than the fags?

Absolutely no idea Greg . . . . but despite the extravagances, considerably less than the £70(some) a week I was spending 6+years ago on ciggies to support my 40-50 a day habit. And! I've flipping loved, loved spending whatever I have done on vaping related ephemera. I never got that pleasure buying tobacco . . . . . £150 per day for you Mandy.

I've not really totted it up? mainly because buying vape gear brings me massive joy. I know that my banner savings are somewhat skewed as I'd got to the point that I was buying duty free tobacco and making my own with cigarette tubes and packing machine (which was bloody messy and time consuming) So rather than paying each day for a pack of 20 (at about £7) I was using 2x 50 gramme tobacco pouches I got via duty free, so about £15 a week plus filter tubes so maybe £20 a week? That's how I allow myself up to £100 a month for vaping budget So my vape budget still matches my smoking spend. BUT I own some good quality gear, have a freezer with about 4litres of nicotine and enough flavour concentrates to do me a decade. On top of that I have at least 8 high quality atomisers and another 20 or so mainstream tanks that I could be happy using forever (along with 6 almost indestructible mods) I also have enough wire and wick to keep me building for all eternity I never need to buy a single thing ever again. But I will! 'cos I enjoy it and my humungous collection of bespoke driptips? If I have to, I'll wear them on my charm bracelet! £10,000 just on drip tips lol.

Think I've only spent about £100 in 6 months. I've got an ego setup which is dirt cheap, and get through maybe 1.5 bottles a week of onepoundliquid.

BLAH BLAH ECT. and my humungous collection of bespoke driptips? If I have to, I'll wear them on my charm bracelet! £10,000 just on drip tips lol. Just for you Rosco, I just did a head count on my siams/GD's/Juicetraps/driptip designz/cubanas/vinces tips/tips by big/EVL .....AND FRIGHTENED MYSELF. I thought I had about 30+ bespoke driptips when I actually have 70 (plus) at a conservative £10 a pop I'm sitting on my retirement fund? I keep talking about weeding them down but I cant find many I want to part with?

So, how much do you reckon you've spent on vaping gear so far. I realise most can say a lot less than on ciggies but how much have you spent in cold hard cash chasing the perfect vape. Or maybe you just have a shopping fetish, not that that's directed at anyone in particular Come on folks fess up, your amongst friends and we won't tell your better half unless they're also members Don't know and don't care. It costs what it costs to not smoke again.

Cheers, although I'd put it down more to being poor, than to being highly disciplined! I was a cheap rollies smoker, so I guess my setup is the vaping equivalent

Its been 2 years 3 months probally spent around £1500 ive been mixing my own juice for about a year and started to make a few of my own mods which keeps costs down and love doing it, its more of a hobby now something smoking never was. Last year i was diagnosed with COPD (mild) which i was told was from the stinkies who knows. But i now feel so much better for giving up the stinkies and since i started vaping my lung test results have not changed in a year. Money well spent and the best decision ive every made

here's a cut from my spreadsheet, started the day I switched and kept going with every purchase:- Enter Current date 30/05/16 Date Stopped 06/10/12 Qty per day 25 Cost per pack £2.55 Total Saving on tobacco £4,245.75 Total Spent on E-Cigs £1,658.79 Running saving since stopping £2,586.96 I've been DIY'ing for over 3 years, and this spend includes the 4.7 litres of nic base still in the freezer I only ever used rollies, hence the £2.55 per pack, or how much in baccy, paper and filters it took to make 20. I don't have shinyitis, but have enough mods, tanks and pre-made wicks'n'wires to last for many a year. ..actually, the saving should be slightly more, as I've been mixing for Mini-Gun#1 for 18 months and for Mrs G-J for 8 months now, but strangely the cost of their nic, flavourings and diluents is all included in my totals

I can identify what's been spent on internet purchases (so missing are the tools bought to bodge build mods, storage boxes, and several bottles of vg from Boots which costs naff all anyway) but only have history going back to Sept 2014. So in 1 year 9 months I've spent £1350 on mods and associated stuff (e.g. batteries and power bank), £400 on atomisers, and £920 on concentrates, vg, pg, nic. Not as much as I'd thought, but I knew that mods would be the biggest spend as it's all up front. Still, £2700 in that time period versus £8 a pack of fags, 40 a day over 90 weeks, I'm £7300 up on the deal.
Edit : looks at sig. Years 1 and 2 if I spent say £3500 that's £6200 over the period. Still in the black (except in respect to the colour of my lungs).
