The casual reader would give the whole malarkey a body swerve perhaps? Misceivous maybe, but my point was it can be as complicsted or not as you wish. No disagreement from me there buggritt . Not one person has any proof that nic degrades less in an amber glass bottle. Or that plastic leeches into liquid, which is a bit far fetched There I will beg to differ with you . . . . as all the opinion that I've read in the 5+years of Home Mixing from considerably more informed people than myself, points to glass - amber specifically as being the best means of long term storage. For myself, having spent good money on Nic Base a few pence on a bottle and a few minutes of my time decanting before freezing is a very small investment I'm happy to make to give my stocks the best possible chance of seeing myself and vaping friend through the next decade and beyond. Each to their own as I always say.

Maybe not, but uv light degrades most things, so it's better to protect from it. I think you're safe fron UV light in a Freezer! You are indeed Des, which is what I said earlier. Cold and dark is as good as it gets. But as little oxygen as is possible would be best. Oxygen destroys EVERYTHING! But we can't exist without it. The ultimate oxymoron.

Afraid I wouldn't be able to negotiate storage rights for a stash that big. Had to settle for 3 x 1L bottles in the fridge. It's cool and dark (mostly) and doesn't use up too much food space. I have been contemplating the value (or not) of a trickle of argon in the tops of open bottles. Anyone know if you could safely use welding argon? *-SARIN-* would be best to ask . Potentially yes. Argon is more water soluble than nitrogen and is more expensive but i know that it's used in wine making if the wine is to be stored for a long period of time. It's an inert gas, non-toxic and has the ability to displace oxygen - the reason that it is used in wine making is to stop spoiling on the surface of the wine i believe. As for the question regarding using welding argon then you have to make sure that it is 100% argon. I suspect that it is not because when used as a shielding gas it is mixed with either helium, carbon dioxide, oxygen, hydrogen or numerous other gases depending on the metal to be welded.

Thanks -SARIN-. the sort of thing I had in mind is on <eBay> at around the same price as you can get the so-called "wine preserver" cans. I don't expect any definitive answer but your thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks for all the advise peeps! I ended up buying 2L in 500ml amber bottles for the freezer from Darkstar. Having also just bought a kayfun 5 I'm feeling a bit poor now!

Just as a heads up I ordered a litre on Thursday and recieved today so including the BH it looks like things are settling down as they had seen a big increase in purchases following the TPD which caused a bit of delay in dealing with orders
