OK so I got a raffle, was using the .2 coil it came with for 3 days at 75 watts and suddenly it burned. Bought two more coils and both of those have burned within a day, I don't understand what is happening. I've primed them and built the wattages up. They seem to be authentic, I've not had issues with other coils I've bought from the same place. Any ideas?

might be your too close to the max temp 0.2 OHM = 60 - 120W 0.5 = 40-80W
i had crown coils do the same. 3 in the box lasted 5 days. what VG/PG mix are you using. 80/20 was no good for the crown but 70/30 is fine. might be the same issue.

You are using too much power. Try breaking the coil in by using lower wattage and turn it up gradually.
You might have a duff set/pack of coils. The pre made coils for any atomiser can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, it wouldn't surprise me.

I know nothing about the Rafael but if you are getting a couple of days out of a coil before it goes off I'd put it down to the juice.

My rad coils take a good few days to bed in. But I can then go up to 140w easily on the .2 coil. I have had a problem where the coil became loose by half a turn and it burnt out?

The juice I'm using is 60% vg which is homemade and my mod is a Kbox 200. Ive used both the coils that came with the tank and I've bought some from a different shop. I have built up the watts gradually but it seems to be a wicking problem. I haven't been chaining but they seem to burn when I've fired it three times in succession. Is there any way to get the coils to wick better?

wouldn't say that it needed higher VG if its not wicking. perhaps 75w is just too much for it? I'm not a fan of stainless coils but imo without some sort of temperature limiting they just get too hot too quick. dannyw14 have you added any water to the VG in your homebrew ? Although I shouldn't think that it would be an issue undiluted 60VG can be a bit thicker than some of the premade 70%+ VGs. I'd try a low flavour unsweetened juice if you have one, as much as I love my sweets and custards I found that they would kill a coil in days or even on the day. Coils last absolutely ages with this mix and it wicks well at 60% and 75% VG 4% absinthe 6% honeydew melon 2% koolada. better as a 24 hour shake n vape.

I had one up to 130w with 80vg juice, not the water thinned stuff either. Just like the crown though they have a long break in possibly even longer than the crown, and if you rush it it effectively cuts half of the usable wattage range off if you're using thick juice

there you go, learn something new all the time.lol.
I wouldn't have the patience for the coils either, after 2-3 tanks it would be back in the box and residing in the don't use drawer.

I tend to rush them a bit, one way to break them in safely is temp control as it's stainless steel. Also good for making your coil that is on its last leg get you through the day lol
