Hi
I have a Serpent on a Coolfire 4 plus. The coil normally reads at 0.83ohms, sometimes the ohms jumps to between 1.30 to 1.50 ohms, but the wattage does not, is it the mod or the tank? Has this happened to anyone else?

I would try a re-coil first, maybe a dodgy connection in there somewhere. Otherwise you're looking at a flakey earth connection on the mod

Try tightening the screws to the coil legs tsoko. They sometimes become loose after the initial build. Heat affects metal, causing it to expand. When it contracts again it sometimes leaves a loose connection. If it's not that, see blakey's answer.

pretty much the same answers, if it's usually consistent and you have just rebuilt it probably needs tightening or even another dry burn and squeeze. Personally I'd just rebuild fresh and save the messing around.
Resistance issues tend to be the simplest things rather than a fatal mod fault.

I took the coil out yesterday, had a good clean around on the deck, refitted the coil, all screws tight, ok for a while then jumping again. Mind you the coil has been in for a couple of months.

Yeah, sydsut may be right. It may be old and tired (worn out). However, you might want to try taking it completely to pieces and cleaning all the connections. If that fails, it has *moved on*.

I'd say that there may be a chance that you have got your use out of that ha'penny worth of wire lol

I had that exact same problem with the crius on the same mod! Stupid thing was fine one minute then it would change the ohms and almost blow my wife's head off lol!
So far with the griffin on though it's been perfect, the crius with the same build has also been perfect on the ileaf 60watt tc.
I have a suspicion that maybe the coolfire just isn't super compatible with some atties, maybe to do with the length of the pin or something, haven't really looked into it though to be sure.

I was still having problems with the ohms jumping on both my Coolfire iv Pluses so I sent them to Innokin as they are under a 90 day warranty. They have had them for 2 weeks now and I have just had an email from them saying that they have tested them and there is not a problem with them. They say it could be my atomisers that is causing the problem, this I find hard to believe as I have been using the atties on a Sigelei and an IPV2 for the last few weeks and not a problem and prior to getting the Coolfires I was using the same atties on my trusted iStick 50's and not a problem there, now they say I need to pay the postage to get the devices back. My thinking is is that you have to use Innokin atties on these Coolfires.

Use any other Kayfun and it is fine and the V4's are fine on other mods.

My grandson had the same problem with his coolfire 4 ... did the same with every tank he had (stock coils) so it had to be binned after a mere 4 months.
