first things first..... Sorry, you won't blow yourself up. The Cool-Fire will do the Ohms Law for you unlike sub-ohming with mechanical mods where you have direct un-regulated contact with the battery. The 0.5 ohm coil will be fine. The CF4 only goes down to 0.3ohms with full power so if the resistance is too low the Cool-Fire won't fire the 0.2ohm coils (so you won't blow up) and there is unfortunately a chance if it does fire that it may not be able to fire them at an optimum wattage...so you may not get big clouds. read the information stevef The Cool-Fire fires at 0.2-3.1 ohms, optimum is 0.3ohms. hmmmm.....just go for it Darkginger

So, I've got a Cool Fire 4 on its way, and an Isub G tank, which I think comes with a 0.5 ohm coil - then I went and ordered some 0.2 ohm replacement coils (don't ask me why, they were there, and I clicked). I've looked, and I've read stuff about Ohm's Law, and it's just not going in - what wattage range should I be looking at to produce massive clouds without things going bang? (Yes, I am that stupid!). Many thanks if you can advise! None of the above has arrived yet, so am not in imminent danger Planning on using 80/20 VG/PG at 6mg, btw. With the built in electronics in the Coolfire you will not need to worry. I'm assuming you have the plus version which goes to 70 watts as I don't think the sell the iSub with the normal Coolfire 4. As for the isubs I have whacked 100 watts through both heads with no issues at all. Dam hot but still Vapes.

The coolfire 4 is fine running at 0.2 ohms, I haven't had one for a long time but can clearly remember forums saying it could run a minimum resistance of 0.3 ohms but that wasn't the case, That been said I would try to stick more around the 0.5ohm range to avoid putting excessive strain on the internal battery especially with it been an internal battery. 30-40w running a 0.5ohm coil will still give you a decent vape.

It's not the plus version, but according to a YouTube review I watched, it should fire the 0.2 coils OK - but I think you're all probably right, will order some higher resistance coils and see how I get on Still feel somewhat clueless about what wattage range to try, could anyone give me a clue, please, assuming I'm using a 0.5 coil? I have tried and tried to understand how ohms, watts and voltage relate to each other, but it's like I'm blind when it comes to comprehending it all - must have read 20+ idiot's guides to it, and am still none the wiser! Darkginger I'm with you on this mate. I have been going round in circles for weeks now trying to understand it all. I think if it hadn't been for the guys on here i would be back on the L&B. I have come to realise that no question is too daft and it's always safer to ask and be embarrassed than put yourself in danger or ruin good equipment.

i have the coolfire4 and isub tank using 0.5 ohm coil personally i would start off at 10 watts and work up to see what suits, reason i say this is the leaflet that comes with the tank recommends wattage at 20-35 so when i got mine filled i fired up @ 25 sort of mid range....after peeling my burning lip off the drip tip i turned it down...way down and started again from 10,also make sure its plenty wet and you have dry puffed a few times you dont wanna fry the cotton first hit i was using a 70/30 vg/pg 6ml liquid and still cant get a cool vape above 18w

I run a ISub G on either a smy 75, Cuboid 200w or RX200 at between 30 and 45w with no burning on the drip tip using the 0.5 coil.

How are you vaping, mouth to lung, or direct to lung?

I only run my iSub 0.5ohm coils at between 20w - 23w depending on device Tim, so I don't know that there's anything ' wrong ' as such. More a case of personal vaping likes/dislikes maybe?

I have one on my Cuboid running at 33w right now so something is definitely odd.
ETA: that's at 4.06V

i wondered myself as i watched vidz of people having it up at 30w and not flinching? hope mine aint gonna xplode now? the casing doesn't get hot just incase you think so
also tried it with the aspire triton2 tank.......same result and it spits lava at 20w

I was meaning how it was running so hot, my drip tip is cool at 33w, but then my airflow is wide open.

Definitely something to do with the coil. I use my 2.0ohm coil at 8-9.5W (recommendation 10-16W I belive) because above that I had a burnt taste 70/30 vg/pg Isub V
