Whats the life on the liquid when frozen? VG and PG 72mg Seen mention of four years on the net along with mention of the liquid degrading As far as I'm aware it's all largely anecdotal Lee . ... [ETA] - Kurt, a chemist on ECF thinks that VG nic, which becomes more viscous at low temperatures than PG may store better; although I'm still to be convinced! I've seen that comment from Kurt too. A couple of extra general things that will help storage life of your nic base - and, yes, some are out of your control: * Starting with fresh product. If your supplier mixes with old VG or PG, well .... *sad face* * Fast delivery - so your nic base is not held in hot storage sheds longer than necessary * Proper packaging - brown glass bottles filled leaving minimum air space at the top. * edit to update quote...

I have also read somewhere on the internet, so it must be true, that not moving or disturbing your stash if you can avoid it also helps. More movement more molecular action or some such. Even in a domestic freezer nic base does not actually freeze of course; it remains 'liquid'.

Why do you need a brown bottle when storing in a freezer...it's dark in mine?

Jim I agree, that if stored in a freezer, for long term storage, then the colour of the glass bottle is less/not that important. Although when eventually taken out to use and store elsewhere, I can see the benefits (for most people).

Between us, SWMBO and me use about 40-55ml per day @ 3.5mg/ml (makes mixing simpler) and I have just under a litre of 72 mg/ml left. I'm 52, so I need this to last me a few more years. Should I get some more? It looks like a lot at the moment. Probably gonna get more anyway when my tax return hits the mat. I can always sell it to you guys at extortionate prices

By my reckoning tim 1L of 72mg/ml nicbase should last approximately (only) 13.5 months if consuming an average of 50ml/day between you @3.5mg/ml nic strength
If you want it to last "a few more years" find an alternate non-vaping partner!

Even though she has faults (don't we all), I'd miss her too much. Even if it means I have to mix her juice (ooherrr). I'd better buy some more nic........ Cheers

Hi tim, "Between us, SWMBO and me use about 40-55ml per day", surely you mean per week or even 2 weeks. I use 3ml a day, sometimes pushing 3.5ml on a bad day but that would have to be a very bad day.

But then again I haven't ventured deep into sub-ohm vaping.

I have enough for 4-5 years.
What worries me is people saying "I'll get you to make me some Dave when I've run out and 10ml is £9.99"
Um... no?

Admittedly, she spills some (quite a bit actually) as do I on occasions. I suppose we could turn the watts down, but where's the fun in that?

Blimey tim, if that is what happens when you sub-ohm, then I will definitely not be trying that!!!! Once every couple of months, I mix myself 2 lots of 100ml. That does me for my basic day to day vaping. I do occasionally mix 30ml bottles of other mixes, just to try them out, but these will only get used when I am sitting at the shed door, watching the rain piddling down and keeping me from working in the garden. I have wondered about trying sub-ohming, but after what you have said, then I will stick to old fashioned 1.6/1.8 coils and vaping at 5w.

That doesn't even warm the juice, let alone produce vapour! CE5's don't cut it with me anymore I'm afraid. I don't like blowing clouds in public though. That's just antisocial. BTW. I bought a dehumidifier to deal with the fog in the house... Vape how you like it I say. Each to their own. We are different due to diversity in the human race. I like that.

I know several vapers who have been vaping for a while but refuse point blank to join any forums. Had they joined one, they would have known for some time that stock availability is about to change and they too would have been buying what was still for sale.
These same people are somewhat amused as to why I have been stashing stuff away for a while now. I have told them ofcourse of the changes that are coming, but for some reason they are not listening.
In all cases, whilst I have, up until now, shown them how easy it is to make their own, I have made a point of never making any for them. I will stand over them while they make some up, but that is it.
I don't know what the future will bring, but, for myself I have 8 to 10 years of enjoying my way of vaping before I have to make any rash changes.
