Actually tim I have been vaping this way since I started vaping and I now have a set up that both suits my needs, keeps the house nice and clean and is easy and cheap to run. I reckon my vaping is costing me about 27 pence a day. I have observed others who are obviously sub-ohming and producing more clouds than a steam engine, but I would have to vape in the garden if I vaped that way. For me, my ideal set up lasts 24 hours on a full charge and my tank lasts 2 days of vaping. Mixing a batch every two months and vaping becomes just something I do. I don't need to be constantly thinking about it and it does not annoy either the missus or our pets. Low key is the way, for me.

Exactly lobeydosser. If it suits you, do it. Unless it offends people. I'm pleased that you vape the way you do. It stops high demand for the equipment I like to use. Thus keeping the cost down so I can spend it on mixing supplies.... ....and a dehumidifier, so I can see my way to the fridge.

Hi tim, I too have a dehumidifier, which lives in my caravan. The caravan was bought with the money I saved during my first years vaping. Once I knew that vaping was the way forward for me, I decided that whatever money I saved by not smoking, I would never spend more than half on vaping equipment and chemicals. At the end of that first year we had enough to buy a decent secondhand caravan. This now lives in a garage and gets "dehumidified" each year before we set off on any trip. Thankfully we have never had any need to use it in the house, but it is always there, just in case. In recent times I have built a shed at the side of the house and installed a freezer for my vaping stash. The shed also has a corner for mixing;- These days I am in the shed more often than in the house!!!!

Why do you need a brown bottle when storing in a freezer...it's dark in mine? Jim errr... you don't. *blush* I assume my freezer is also dark inside when the door's closed. That is part of my normal list of criteria when advising about nic vaping fluid storage for both in and out of the freezer. I made a mistook including the brown in the list this time ....

Hi tim , "Between us, SWMBO and me use about 40-55ml per day", surely you mean per week or even 2 weeks. I use 3ml a day, sometimes pushing 3.5ml on a bad day but that would have to be a very bad day. I was beginning to wonder that too lobeydosser .... seems a lot. But then again I haven't ventured deep into sub-ohm vaping. I've read a few threads in other places where people were talking about how much e-juice they consumed. I've seen some say they regularly inhale over 60 ml per day. Certainly far more than I use. ** with the TPD 10 ml max bottle size, that sure adds up to lots of bottles around the place.

Out of interest . . . . my little mathematical calculation for you Dave Postmodern Smoking. I guesstimate to having roughly 7 litres of nic base - my own consumption is around 15ml a day at an average of 9mg between the subohm and ' regular ' vaping styles. ( If I didn't work on a Customer Service Desk I could do 6mg across the board! ) So how long would that little lot last me? Although I do mix for other people on occasions at higher strengths ( 16mg ) so I'll factor that into the result - although they don't sub ohm. Just thinking I might pick up another litre while there's still the easy opportunity to keep us all in vaping . . . . . Thank you.

Assuming 72 mg/ml nic base and 365 days in a year.

Because I don't sub-ohm, I have been reading a fair bit on what others have said about that and how much they enjoy doing so. However, up until tim mentioned <<< Between us, SWMBO and me use about 40-55ml per day >>> I had never heard anyone say how much e-juice they went through to obtain their nicotine level or better taste. Quite frankly I was shocked to read these figures and honestly thought tim had made a mistake and had quoted for a week instead of a day. If I was to start sub-ohming now, what I have stashed away to do me the next 10 years, would only last 1 year and 3 months. That is too high a price to pay for the same nicotine level even if it does taste better. Each to his own, but common sense tells me to stick with what I have.

I think that is a bit excessive myself ... I vape around 8 ml a day at 25 - 35 watts. I may be wrong but I reckon most subohm dtl vapers would be around that mark.

Thanks for that @yinyang. As I said, I had no idea what amounts sub-ohmers were using until I read tim s comments. Of late and because of the good weather, I have been working outside most of the day and my daily consumption is down to around the 2ml mark with maybe another half ml of a different flavour in the evening. So even at 8ml, that would last me 3+ days. Not much on a daily basis, but a helluva lot when considered on a yearly basis and working out how long my stash would last me until the UK Government scrapped the TDP. For those who have no stash, sub ohming is the way to go while the TDP is still in force, but thankfully it is not something I need to concern myself with anytime soon.

Thank you @yinyang and Dave Postmodern Smoking . Although I do believe that there will be future ' workarounds ' . . . . . ordered a little more base, as I've Colin from the Common to take into account now! ( He's doing remarkably well, from 20 a day - he's not had a cigarette since last Tuesday morning, no cravings or even thoughts about smoking apparently. Subohming won't be of interest to him and I wouldn't think about reducing his 16mg nic strength yet a while. )
