Thank you @yinyang and Dave Postmodern Smoking . Although I do believe that there will be future ' workarounds ' . . . . . ordered a little more base, as I've Colin from the Common to take into account now! ( He's doing remarkably well, from 20 a day - he's not had a cigarette since last Tuesday morning, no cravings or even thoughts about smoking apparently. Subohming won't be of interest to him and I wouldn't think about reducing his 16mg nic strength yet a while. ) First name terms now is it eh. I sense romance in the air. . . . . . blimey, I couldn't be doing with all that kerfuffle now Richard! Happy to stick to being Colin's vaping advisor, eliquid maker and re-coiler of Protank heads . . . . although we have exchanged mobile numbers.

Nicotine loves to react with oxygen = changes colour and starts to smell Most of the pure nicotine ( 1000mg) used for e-liquid base is supplied by the producers in 1lt HDPE plastic bottles ---this pure nicotine in plastic bottles comes with a five year best before date ( when stored below 20C and bottle head space filled with an inert gas)* see photos DIY Nicotine base does not expand in the freezer you can/should fill your bottles to the very brim and or squeeze HDPE bottles to eliminate as much head space as is possible. Any bottle head space will contain 20% Oxygen gas Top Tip When filling any bottles use the right gloves ( nitrile gloves) Don't be tempted to use Disposable Clear Polythene Food Handling Gloves as even the smallest spill makes these type of gloves incredibly slippy = you will drop your bottles.

While I agree with the idea of not using slippery gloves, I'm sure you are ok to handle nicotine at 72mg/ml quite safely without gloves. I am not suggesting you do this, but nicotine is not as poisonous/toxic as is stated. If you drink it neat, you will be violently sick. Really violently sick, as the human body reacts to any toxic substance like that (like alcohol). You should also seek medical attention immediately, but it is doubtful that you would die. The ingress through skin is extremely slow (like alcohol), so getting a drop or two on your hand will not be adverse to your health. I don't advocate bathing in it, but don't panic if you spill some in your lap for instance (apart from it making more clothes washing). Don't inject it though. That'll kill you if you try it. But nobody will try that. Right? Well yes, some will, but the world is full of idiots. So we are told to wear gloves as it's highly toxic. Even though it really isn't that bad, it is toxic. As is oxygen. But that ain't banned/restricted. Use gloves that don't slip, or it might be expensive if you drop the bottle. Or use what you were born with, and don't spill it. Either one. Same outcome. Same level of safety. PS I added it to this post as it also mentions the toxicty of oxygen. Thanks for my intrusive lecture.

I will stick to old fashioned 1.6/1.8 coils and vaping at 5w. Sounds like you could be using a "Protank" Jim

I've got 12L of nic base in various freezers throughout the county. How long it will last is anybody's guess as I mix for myself, 5 work mates and Mrs Striker. So working out how long it will last ain't easy. I'm hoping it will last 5 + years at 6mg.

Mental image: Time: not too long from now, post TPD. Setting: any back ally way in any big city, likely dark and seedy Shady Looking Fellow (SLF) - wearing a great coat: "Pssssst!" Innocent fellow (IF): "Huh?" SLF: "Wanna buy some nic?" IF: "Say what?" SLF: "Vaping nic - wanna buy some nic?" IF: "Whatchya got?" SLF - swings coat front wide revealing numerous small bottles lined up in coat pockets: "I got high grade nic - 3, 6 and 12. Good, clean, hits hard...." IF: "How much?" SLF: "Tenner a mil..." Vivid imagination Don't you get caught short, stock up.

Well I had another litre delivered yesterday so now have 2 litres freezer nic and about 120mls in the cupboard that I'm currently using. I mix at 3mg so my rough guess is that a litre will last me 10 years So even if it degrades slightly I have over 20yrs of nic. I don't vape high power/sub ohm - mainly stick to my Kayfun Lite clones around 9 watts on average. I get exactly the vape I want from this set up and use about 5 or 6mls a day in a mixture of tanks/flavours. I'm lucky in that I can vape at my desk at work - and I can also work from home a couple days a week now, so vaping whenever I like

If, between you, you are using less than 550ml a week (or 2.4L/month), then your 12L stash will last 5 years @6mg/ml. If using less than this it will last longer!

I (ordinarily) vape @24mg and have done for the past 4+ years. Many things have changed over that time, including the MODs and tanks that I use and I expect those changes to continue over the next 4+ years.
By stashing away enough mixers and coils to last me 4+ years I think I can safely presume that be the time I run out of stash, something else will have come along to allow me to continue to enjoy my vaping experience the way I want to, at the strength I want to and at a price I want to pay.

Seems like most people are going for the 5 year stash - me too - though I am finding myself getting itchy to buy more - but when it comes to vaping gear, I'm always itchy to buy more. DaveJ if you ever meet that shady looking fellow, it will probably be me...

I have tried a few and like these the best. A full charge and a full tank will last me 2 days.
