Thank you. It's their BNH that I thought was good, but I ended up with vapours tongue. Funnily enough I tried it again today and still can't taste it. I've noted the Double Flavoured liquids too which may be worth a punt. A very brief scan of the reviews looks like it was the higher 30mg liquids tested which I imagine won't be around after May?

Should be a similar flavour at lower nicotine levels... but yes, you are right in thinking that 30mg/ml liquids won't be around after May, courtesy of the TPD... only ones that have been submitted for MHRA approval and less than 20mg/ml (i.e. probably 18mg/ml).

Ah, well, there's the age old thing. Trying to get a flavour that resembles what you smoked.
When I first started vaping to quit smoking, I was one of those who thought I wanted a tobacco flavour to replicate what I smoked. I didn't listen to those who told me differently. I soon found that there are many tobacco flavoured juices - and many do resemble the smell of the dry tobacco leaf. But I've never found a vape that tastes like the draw from a burning cigarette. In the end, after quite a few disappointing encounters with various tobacco flavours, I found my joy in numerous other very unlikely directions - bakery, fruits and such.
My seach criteria is firstly for a big flavour, with a big throat hit, more importantly than the tobacco flavour, for somebody who through smoking has lost his taste buds somewhat. The tobacco flavour is probably helping as an ADV because im not getting that throat hit we can associate with middle tar cigarettes, or a strong enough flavour that also sticks in the mouth to remind you that you have just vaped. What I require is probably what a seasoned vaper would describe as 'harsh'. The mix of Omusa and PowWow juice isn't the best of flavours but it's throat hit is quite good Look for juices that offer a high PG ratio, sorry I cant think of any off the top of my head as I predominately mix my own and taylor the pg/vg ratio to my own preference (50/50)

Sorry about the bold text, it wasn't meant to highlight big throat hit anymore than big taste, as both are important at the moment. I've also learnt today that I can't switch flavours after Red Astaire or any other thicker liquids without changing a coil, unless I vape for a day on an empty tank, lol.
I don't know if I did a daft thing mixing a tank half and half with Nokomis and Osuma. Bad flavour but good throat hit. From what I've been reading about curing vapers tongue, I think I'm in need ykchew a few lemons, yuk.

There's nothing wrong with mixing up your juices, in fact you might find that you'll enjoy the odd cocktail. I cant possibly imagine the day I'd vape an empty tank!! A tank or two of menthol usually cures vapours tongue for me, but as I've usually quite a few flavours in rotation it's not a problem

I know it's still early days on your vaping journey, but in regards the vapour's tongue concern, I have a few bottles of 0mg eliquid with cherry, menthol, mint, and some Hangsen Golden Tree concentrate, that I give to my vapefam if they tell me they're suffering - depending on their preferences - that way it usually only requires two or three drops added to a 10ml bottle to make the difference. As a DIYer, I always have my favourite flavours available to adjust a batch if I think it's getting a bit "samey". I've never bought from a shop, only online, and it's never been an issue; just keep experimenting, without lowering your nic level, and you'll get there!

I've tried 3 different flavours since the red astaire has been in the tank and all turn red when the tanks filled and all still taste of Tunes. Hence the tongue in cheek comment that I'd need to vape on a dry tank for a day to rid the Red Astaire out of the coil

Just so you know cragI tried most the OK Smokey and don't like them much. Not like a cigarette, just 'interestingly smoke-ish' liquids. The prices on the liquids are fair enough I guess if you don't want to DIY. Not sure about TPD; it's not like they are saying anything.

I'm not sure I'm after a cigarette to be fair. I think I've read enough to convince me that the tobacco flavours are anything like a cigarette. But after trying a few liquids from different manufacturers, I do seem to be getting on with so called tobacco flavours as ADV's rather than fruits. It may be that I've just not come across a fruit that would suit me as an all day vape yet. My tastes seem to be changing daily, sometime good and sometimes damn awful. The OK Smokey BNH I was nearly vaping exclusively, but for trying fruit flavours out at least once a day, and then got vapers tongue. I never craved between vaping either, like I have with the Manabush stuff I tried BNH again yesterday and still can't taste it. But at the same time was wondering if vapers tongue is also hampering all tobacco flavours. I should be able to try a 24mg flavour this week which may answer a question or two. It may be that I'm still craving a cigarette, but I'm in denial, determined not to light one up. It's just so frustrating reading about all these great flavours.
I guess I've got to be a bit more patient

Hi Crag - as a fellow sufferer from vapers' tongue, I was wondering if you'd considered trying some coffee flavours? I think a nice dark coffee-type juice really cuts through any tongue fuzziness, and is in the same flavour family as tobacco. Also, some juice manufacturers seem to have more flavoursome liquids than others - I find Triphammer and Sailor Sauce particularly good (though not sure the latter go any higher than 6mg, now I think about it). Anyway, good luck on your journey - vaping is so much more interesting than smoking

crag In addition to all the good advice above... Did You get hold of any Hangsen tobacco flavours? I reckon these would suit You as You say You're getting on well with 'baccy flavours & after the throat hit. Hangsen seem to get 'dissed' a bit elsewhere but imo, Their tob. flavours are hard to beat:- suggest 'Red USA' for strong flavour & throat hit, 'Golden Tobacco' (ex='RY6'...) good too.

Anyway, good luck on your journey - vaping is so much more interesting than smoking Thanks Darkginger. I wouldnt call vaping more interesting than smoking at the minute. I feel like a pain in the backside relying on forum members to get me out the mire. Although I'm more than grateful for everybody's input. I've seem to have spent a lot, although I'm still confident it will save me a lot in the long run. If I could just walk into a shop and pick up a coffee flavour, it make things so much easier. It seems a bit daft ordering 10ml at a time, but will add your recommendation to next weeks list, Then there's the stress of trying to work out whether I'm doing something wrong. I use to smoke between 10 -15 cigarettes a day, I'd have 2 one after the other on the way to work to carry me through to break, and being as I didn't smoke in the home I'd do the same on the way home. Although would nip out in the garden for an odd one in the evening. So with vaping, I probably vape for the 15 minute duration it takes to get to work, and the same on the way home again. I'll vape in my lunch break, and I'll have a vape session in the evening. I'm vaping for a longer period of time than it would to smoke a cigarette, it's just the regularity is the same as when I smoked. I'm only using approx 2ml per day, but whether the length of a session is causing the vapers tongue. Its just trying to get to the flavour, and the throat hit.
