Different thats for sure but will it work ??? I'm sure that it will.... "is it any good"?? .... that's the question! I also would be interested to know what the wafer surface is made of, in relation to vape safety.

Yes that is true mate I'm really not sure it says you can dry burn them clean or for very stubborn stains use a light / fine sandpaper

My guess is that it is probably a ceramic wafer of some sorts, but no information given (that I can see).

its a ceramic flat coil. and after reading the press release from Uwell a year ago on ceramic ill pass even though it would be perfect for me as i cant build normal coils due to arthritis. unless of course ceramic has progressed in the last year.

I guess it must be a good 4 years ago now, but David at Super T was talking about developing a similar concept . . . . that's as far as it got that I'm aware of - not that I've kept up. If it really is that simple, low maintenance and an enjoyable vape - I'd give it a go. Potentially this could be the first of any number of such tanks . . . . . interesting to see how and if it progresses.

If they engraved mirco grooves on it so that it wicks itself - no need for cotton - then it would be innovative.

Imagine IF it really works and the price drops to sensible levels. Let the waiting for news begin. .. forgive me if I don't hold my breath. .. or chuck $40 at it just now.

Googling "ceramic heating element" sends you into a very deep, but fascinating, black hole. Shouldn't be an expensive solution as it is familiar tech, just needs to be adapted to vaping and made lung safe. That video shows most vapour squirting out of the sides and I would think given the geometry lots of burnt cotton quite quickly of let to run dry.

Looks to be pretty much the same concept as that Altus tank from last year which was a total flop.
