Over the last 2 or 3 days I have noticed that just the top part of my chest is sore, well tender seems a better word. I was talking to someone about 3 weeks ago when I first started to vape and told them what I was doing, there response was that all 3 of them tried it some time ago and all had to give it up because of this tightness in the top part of there chest.
I don’t really want to stop as the nasty’s, has now dropped by around 70% and for me that is unbelievable. Has anybody else come across this problem, if so is it likely to pass as time goes by or have you never heard of this problem? I may be reacting to the PG or the VG or ever the flavours!

If you have pain down your left arm combined with chest tightness, get to a doctor ASAP..
I haven't experienced what you say when I switched to vaping..

Macca, I meant to say its not a heart attack, no shoulder pain, or arm pain, I suffer from heart problems anyway, I have a pacemaker fitted. Its just the very top section well above the man boobs and, and it’s a soreness or tenderness type pain and NOT a sharp or stabbing pain.

As you probably know it can be due to a variety of reasons including acid reflux which many vapers do report.I I haven't experienced or read anywhere of people reporting a tender chest.
Maybe you should call NHS direct and speak to them especially if you have priors if you are concerned. You used the word tightness in your OP and that's what caught my attention.

Trevor, i know what you're talking about, i had to stop using VG for that reason, also Raggy on here had the same....
I can tolerate a low percentage of vg in juices, but that's it....
It's usually PG that causes this kind of thing, as it is metabolized to lactic acid in the lungs
It may also be the drying effects of either VG or PG on the body, drink more water, tea, juice, etc...
whichever you use in ejuice, try switching to the other, or experiment with the % in your juice, but, as always, if you're worried or if the above doesn't help, go see your GP

I second Macca's advice. Nobody here is medically qualified. Phone NHS 24!

I have suffered with those symptons for years, mine tuned out to be intercostal muscles (those that sit between the ribs), because we tend to vape in a different way to smoking I initially had the odd twinge but I knew what it was and it soon settled down.
As said though, this was my experience and my experience only, with things like these it is always better to get them checked out by a GP or hospital just to make sure nothing else is troubling you.

I know there are no doctors on here and I know even if there was he / she would not be able to give out much advice other than that has already been asked. As there has been no proper medical study’s or papers on E-Cig’s. I do not wish to sound over cocky or over confident, but I really don’t think its heart related, touch wood. All I was trying to do was to seek out advice from more experienced users. As I have said above, it seems funny that only 3 weeks ago I was told by some friends that they had to stop because of this reason. I really don’t want to stop. I was really trying to find out if it could be the VG or the PG or even the flavours. Maybe I’m puffing too hard and it’s making my tender. I thank you for your replies and concerns but please stop scaring the shit out of me Lol. I was looking for something like Global’s or Lilac response.

I did not disrespect your advice Macca in fact I would advise the very same thing myself if somebody asked the same question. But I did the post as to NOT indicate any concern about my heart; the question was about VG-PG or flavours. I do have heart problems and know the difference I have been blue-lighted to Papworth many times. As for scaring the shit out off me it was a joke.
Anyway enough of that I really want it to p*** down today and see Button on the front for tomorrow. Would really like to see Massa up there but I know that’s not going to happen, poor chaps days are numbered, he hasn’t been the same since that wheel nut hit him,
What a season, best I can remember for many a decade.

I must admit I've experiences something similar maybe when I've had a higher vape content. I mixed my own with 50/50 and felt something different in my chest

I don't get this effect unless I've vaped a lot. A lot to me anyway (4ml+ in a day). The mg rating of my liquid seems to make a difference as well as the pg/vg content. I can not take higher than 8 - 10mg/ml of nicotine or I will not sleep for days, have terrible headaches and aches and pains all over with a heartbeat that constantly beats as hard as though I've just run a mile in flippers. I can't handle pg, I will break out in a rash and I will get a very sore, dry throat and that annoying "heavy lungs" feeling that takes me much longer to get with vg. The temperature you vape at seems to affect it as well. More heat/less resistance = more throat hit / more irritation and of course more vapour = more dehydrating. Keeping myself hydrated seems to make a large difference and limiting how much I vape seems to have a helping hand in limiting how often I feel this. Everyone is different - some vape 42mg quite happily and seem to have no ill effects whereas I can not for anyone vape higher than 10mg or it's bad news for me. I don't think I could even breathe in 42mg liquids let alone handle it Throat hit much? Try lower your nic, your resistance or "heat" of the vape, all vg, all pg, possibly flavour free and even nicotine free to find out if one if any affects you this way specifically. Take in more water if possible and I tend to chew on sugar free gum to keep my saliva levels up as it is. Another possibility if you're new to vaping (I have no idea if you are or not) is that you're noticing the effects of smoking now that you're not? The first few weeks after I just flat out stopped smoking, I also went back to work after a long time of being unimployed and ow, my throat sucked. That annoying tight feeling that feels a little painful, like if you're in really cold weather and it's a little harder than usual to catch your breath. Like I said though, it's gone now for me and only returns if I've vaped way more than I should have. Cigarettes have a numbing effect on your throat so it can be a little harder to 'feel' these sort of effects until you stop. Allergic reactions are another posibility - try out some antihistamines and see how you go. Hope that gives you some idea of what to try out for yourself at least. I 'aint no doctor, just what I've read others saying and my own experience on this issue.

Many thanks Leftfield, there is a lot for me to get on with there. Where do you get your 100% VG from please, it seems most do a 50/50 70/30 etc but haven’t seen one that does pure VG to early for me to go nicotine free at the moment, only into my 2nd or 3rd week.
