Hello Beep. Not much help here as I've broken my atties in pretty quickly but I remember others saying it's taken them a bit of time to get theirs going. I wouldn't ditch it but put it to one side for another day.

I can only comment on 510s as thats all I use, but... when i do have a troublesome one, it's always a normal 510. Sometimes they kick right from the off, other times it can take a few hours to a few days. So, I always have a Low Resistance one on the go, and alternate. Sooner or later, the normal 510s start producing, and when they do, they are often better than LR. But LR's do tend to 'work' straight away, so have one of each on the go, bes tof both worlds and helps ease any frustration

Poor {{{Beepsie}}} Have you tried burning off the coil? If you have a manual battery you can keep the button pressed and peek down the atty to see the red glow and "smoke" burning off. Then drp in 2 drops and have a little puff, see how it is. Worth trying If that fails, put it aside and use another scylla

Beep - if that all fails, try washing it out in very hot water. I have had three like that. I swished them in boiling water and put them into a cooling warm oven to dry them out. Two then worked, one never did - but worth a try.
Also, a couple of weeks ago, a set that had been in use finally packed up. I left them, and today was about to throw them away. But - finally test before dispatch to the bin - and lo and behold - two, out of the four, are working again! No idea how or why - they just decided to have another go it seems.

They really are very unpredictable aren't they?
I've found the same with my LR901's as bucko has with his LR510's - they seem to kick in straight away.

I blow the new atties out until all the primer fluid pretty much disappears. Then I dry burn for a few seconds > then drip a couple of drops on the attie & puff on it as if I was lighting a pipe. That usually sorts the problem out.

James - never quite sure which thread to catch you on - hope you find it here - 'cos you do need a good sorting, Mister. > I know I said you had forgotten my blue stuff - but I also said 'no urgency, would be okay with my next order'. Did you listen? Of course you didn't. (Men- do they ever? ) So, not only did blue stuff arrive, it arrived with freebies and pancake juice (haven't tried it yet), and it cost you to post it. I think I need to speak to Audrey.

That usually sorts the problem out. This is the best and easiest explanation that I have seen so far for the treatment of new atties. Good on ya Hissie. Ken.
