This an important meeting and will establish ECCA (UK) as a proper bona-fide Consumer Association - you need to be there!!

Thanks Dave for posting this information, I've made it a sticky in the run up to the meeting as it's important for as many vapers as possible to get involved and be aware of what is happening within their Community.

Have to say I was very impressed with the technical aspect of the virtual meeting, it means that the admin team can keep good control of the meeting flow without it descending into a free for all.

If your computer/laptop doesn't have a built in webcam, you'll need a microphone to be able to join in the audio proceedings, there is however a text box facility so you can ask questions if you don't have a mic.

Hope I've got that all correct, I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong.

I found it a really polished system, much more organised than the previous meetings. Let's hope we can drum up some interest and make the next one even better.

Also is there any way to move this to the front page rather than have it buried here?

We should add that AllAbout needs to get a couple of folks sorted as kind of "reps" to put themselves forward for election to the steering committee - without which nothing will happen. It's a not a lifetime commitment - the steering committee will be in place just long enough to get proper committee members elected and set up the association. Might be a month, might be three... and that's it. If you fancy it, let Perpetua know!!! You'll need a propoer and a seconder. And that's about it.

ECCA(UK) is the UK voice in representing and defending consumers interest and rights in the standardisation of Electronic Cigarettes.

Thank you for proposing me Lee and Chris for seconding, I'm happy to stand for the Steering Committee . . . although long term I don't think I'd have the time, nor indeed the skills for a permanent position . . . but I'd still be happy to be All About's representative.

The meetings are being scheduled for a Wednesday night, which isn't a good night for me with other commitments, then I have a 5am ( ish ) start on a Thursday.

I also was going to suggest Lee stand, the Chair of a Committee will manage proceedings Lee, so you don't have to worry about that . . . . I think you'd be great as you're really interested and have a fresh eye and views on vaping/ecigs.

Nice of you to say so but really I can be quite the thicko sometimes! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Perpetua to do it, she'd be great. Hopefully a few more will sign up and get involved too, I don't think there's enough involvment yet.

Lee,from what i can see you'd be better than me ! I will be a member of the ECCA but i'm just not up for being a committee member.Scylla,i can't even persuade myself to 'talk' on mic never mind anything else. I know i can type what i want,but because i cant type fast i come over as being very blunt and too the point,whats the point of spending my next twenty minutes fluffing something up to look good,i haven't got that long :-D

Perpy,you have one up on me from the word go,i've never even attending a meeting as such,i dont know how they work,i dont know how they run and i dont want a place on the main committee when i haven't got a clue what i'd be doing.

Perpy, as for meetings etc, at the moment they are fixed at 9.30pm because of it starting of with VTTV's help. I'm sure meeting times etc can be discussed between committee members to find out whats best for everyone.Open meetings or member meetings obviously need to be set with times that are agreeable to most people.

Most people seem to put in sugestions (sod the spelling) of what-ever i'm thinking anyways.Saves me doing it :-D
