Interesting article Kenny . . . . . and all joking aside, the herbal cigarettes I purchased several months ago have a tar level of 5/6mg per cigarette . . . . yet they are promoted as being a healthier option and an aid to giving up smoking.

I wonder how much monoamine oxidase inhibitor there is in cannabis, which sufferers of MS and other conditions insist eases their pain. scylla Don't know how much is in cannibis Scylla but now we know why people like chocolate which also contain MAOI : A para from the article by Highbeam research : Chocolate has earned a reputation as "Nature's Prozac." It keeps up levels of phenylethylamine (PEA), which increases the activity of neurotransmitters (brain chemicals). This increases the activity of dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine, hormones that keep us feeling alert, alive, joyful and happy. Chocolate contains anandamide, a lesser-known neurotransmitter that creates bliss and a "high" feeling. High doses can mimic a cannabis high. It is believed to contain monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), which keep our neurotransmitters plentiful like those of children so that we can be as joyful, curious and excited about life as children are. This is interesting stuff Ken. I 've been vaping now for nearly 11 months. I started off on high nic juice, thinking that was going to be the thing that helped me most. After a month or so I started lowering my nicotine content and still got the same enjoyment from vaping, as well as enjoying the advantages of not smoking. Now I can and do enjoy no-nic/low-nic juice. I am acutely aware of how much I like tasting the flavour and texture of whatever I am vaping, and I know it satisfies the 'hand to mouth' habit too. What has surprised me is the visual satisfaction from producing clouds of vapour. Stealth vaping would do nothing for me, anymore than vaping with the lights off does...

Yes Lynda, I am beginning to wonder if nicotine is indeed as addictive as has been proclaimed in the past. I have tried a little experiment on myself where I have spent one day vaping 18mg juice and next day vaped no nic juice and have not had any withdrawal symptoms on the day with no nic. ??? Hand to mouth habit seems to satisfy as you say plus vapour. A little bit mysterious I think but maybe not. It could be just habit. Ken.

Just an afterthought: For the experiment I bought from the chemist here 100 ml of VG. I bought in the UK some menthol crystals which last a long time. Total cost 3 squid. I got a 10ml bottle and nearly filled it with VG and added 20 drops of Vodka to thin it and then added 3 crystals. Beautiful if you like menthol. Total cost for 10mls 15 pence. I still use this if I feel a bit spaced after using the nic juice especially if I have been drinking as I tend to chain vape. I would nearly go as far as saying that if there was a ban that I could get by on this. So are we really addicted or is it all in the mind. All I know for sure is that I had this bad habit for 50 years. ??? Ken.

I agree with you Lyndz And another thing I've just remembered Nicotine is supposed to clear totally from one's system within 72 hours - so home come so many giver-uppers still gasp for a fag weeks and months after giving up? It's the feeling, isn't it Oops, I missed a page. I agree with you too, Kenny, whatever it was you said scylla

Its because we have been brainwashed, conditioned into thinking that we will not be able to quit once we start smoking so we believe it and if you believe it, it happens. Its a bit like giving someone a plasibo and convincing them that its the latest wonder drug and will cure them. If you can convince them it will work. Just some thoughts in my head of course lol. Ken.

Much the same as above when out hardly touch it but then I do fill it will 36mg Juice. Couple of puffs does the trick. At home in front of pc I do puff a lot but have now reduced to zero nicotine boots glycerine and a dv flavour mostly. I might take a couple high nicotine hits during the evening.
