Are vapers becoming more addicted to nicotine?

Okay guys, just thoughts passing through my mind.

On different forums I notice the large number of people who have started vaping and wanting to find more vaper, more throat hit, more nic hit, longer vapes 6-7-8 second draws, and are chain vapers.

Does this mean that these vapers if they ever had to become cigarette smokers again would become possibly chain smokers when they had not been before and is this a cause for concern.

Just something for you to think about and looking forward to your answers.

Well I was a chain smoker before I found ecigs so it's a question for me . . . if I'm at home then I'll happily chain vape just because I can but if I'm at work where I can't vape ( easily ) then I absolutely don't get the nicotine cravings I had if I went without a ciggie for more than an hour.

Okay, watched a few videos on vaping and the guys were taking 5,6,7 second draws on a 510 atty.

Why? I use a sexy Tordado as you know Perpy with a TW atty and I find a 2 second draw from it will give me more plumes of vapor than a ciggy ever did.

What I would worry about is the light smoker who becomes a vaper and watches the videos and looks at views on some forums and decides that because vaping is less harmful that its okay to chain vape even though they are increasing their nicotine dependency.

I don't get the need for the gurt long draws Kenny, the little chugs I do are more than enough for me to get the necessary 'hit' . . . . is it a machismo thing I wonder, who can blow the biggest smoke ring malarkey.

I'm with Perpy - I chain-vape when I can, but when I can't it's no big deal. Very strange, cos I would run down the high street slashing passers-by with a machete if I was deprived of tobacco ???

I think everyone finds their level, whatever that may be...

i also find i don't have the same desperation for a 'hit' like i did when smoking...a cig used to be the first thing i reached for as soon as my eyes were open...but i can be up 30 mins- an hour sometimes before i have a vape...

re the time of a draw Ken, if im using a LR attie, as you say, a 2 sec draw is enough, but if im using a normal attie on my GG for instance, then i take a longer draw to get the same effect...

There has been lots of discussions on ECF as to how much nicotine we are actually absorbing. So it is a difficult one to answer.

As for the times of draws I take, I'd say about the same as Lilac.

Newbies take note:

If you buy a normal 510 atty and you have watched the videos regarding vaping then yes take a 5 or 6 second draw.

If you buy an LR atty which is brilliant for vaping, only take a 2 second draw otherwise you will maybe get a little spaced out.

As Chrissie said, there is a debate about how much nicotine actually gets absorbed. I have used various strength juices - from high 36 to 11-18. What I am surmising is that my 'need' is for the throat hit, volume and feel of the 'inhale' to get any satisfaction. If I get achieve that - which if I do is immediate - then I am okay - a happy bunny. Thus I doubt that for me the 'satisfaction' is a nictoine hit, regardless of the strength. I could, of course, have that all wrong - but that's my input, for what it is worth.

Well, I've not been able to vape all day today until I got home.

Bovverd? Not.

As Scylla said earlier, had that been during the smoking years I'd have been going more than a little demented, so there's more to vaping than just getting a nicotine fix for me.
