Hi everyone, I am now 9 weeks free of the dreaded weed and feeling so much better. I have smoked 20 a Day for 45 years, tried everything you can think of to give up ...and then discovered this forum and the e cig....so big thanks to all who have contributed. I have been using a sky cig ( 510 thread ) and jac vapour and this has served me well. From this forum I learnt to refill the cartomizers with e juice and it's been cheaper and better than buying the pre filled. However they eventually need replacing so I bought some Boge ( think that's what they are called ) empty cartridges. I have filled them just as I have the others but all I am getting is a hot burning taste. Is there something different that I am supposed to do with these? Would really appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi and welcome Padiho, yes it sounds like you're not getting the juice soaked all the way into the carto, try the "condom" method then leave them to soak for a few hours before trying.
Unfortunately once you have burned a carto you cannot get rid of the burnt taste so you will have to bin those.
And #welcome2# to AAEC of course!

Hello & welcome Padiho. Agree with Karma & Des . . . you've not saturated your carto filling sufficiently and that's why you're getting a burnt taste, as the coil is heating up and has no liquid to heat, so it's burning the filler material instead. I also leave a carto for 20-30minutes after filling, to give it time for the eliquid to become thoroughly absorbed.

Hello & welcome Padiho I agree with the others, plus you need to keep them topped up well.

Welcome Padiho. As I was told when I started, cartomisers have to be wetter than a wet thing You don't need to put much juice in to top up a pre-filled one, but when you are starting with an new one they can absorb quite a bit more.

I have been dripping it in from the top, leaving it 5-10 minutes then topping some more in. I will definitely try the condom methed, I can see now that it makes more sense to do it that way as its never had liquid in it..unlike the pre filled ones I have been filling up. Thank you all so much for the welcome, you are all such a friendly bunch. I do feel able to ask anything without being ridiculed. This is really a big learning curve, it all seemed so simple when I found my first ecig. I've since learned that isn't the case. Still don't understand all the ins and outs of it...but I'm sure one of you will be able to help if I need it. Incidently what is the difference between low and standard resistence cartomizers?
I must say that the 9 weeks have not been too difficult without the weed. I actually like vaping. Still not really sure what e juice I want to stick with, still flitting from one supplier to the other, trying all different flavours...but will get there eventually. After all it's only taken me 45 years to give up the weed after trying hypnosis, acupuncture, patches, cold turkey....thanks to the electronic ecig I'VE DONE IT 😃

Low resistance cartos need to be used with a battery which is over 400 mAh, as they put more strain on the battery and run it down quicker. This is because they burn hotter so can give you more of a throat hit and vapour carry on asking questions
