OMG - think I need to give you all a hug. Tara - I am an absolute beginner - aided greatly by all the peeps in here - and my kit arrived today, and after a bit of head scratching, I finally got it going - and can't believe how good it is. Why didn't I know about this before???? I bought a Riva - very nice - good quality look and feel. It took me a bit of a time to initially set up up. I would say that the instructions are not 'idiot-total newbie' friendly. Thus I was grateful to have read so much here, as well as watched all of the useful videos via the links provided here. It really is one of those things that once you know how, you feel a bit stupid for not knowing how - if you see what I mean. I didn't realise that you had to depress the button whilst 'dragging'. I began by pressing for 5 seconds, releasing, and of course nothing was happening. But once I got my head and brain around that requirement, I was off and running - and whoopee - this just might work. James, hun, thank you soooo much for the samples. I have got going with the L and B - and now I know what you all mean by the taste. It is all incomprehensible until you have actually done it. I do however think in twiddling to get it going (i.e. not depressing the button to assist) I assumed I hadn't put enough juice in, so shoved some more in - and perhaps have put too much in? How do you know if you have overdone it a bit, or doesn't it matter? But in the midst of it all, I have had to laugh at myself. Once I got it up and running - I dashed outside (my usual smoking practice) to have a puff, when I suddenly realised that I don't need to any more. Am I right that whilst 'tasting' the vapour, it doesn't actually create a cigarette smell? I have hay fever today, so nose is a bit bunged and I can't smell anything. James, again, hooooge thanks - a really lovely selection here to get test and get through. So please give me a few days to experiment, and then I can place an order. So, to everyone here ((((((((((((((((Everyone))))))))))))))))))) Day one of being a vaper - not a smoker

Thanks James- ignore my other posting. Asked the same question twice over. That's great - will give me time to choose. x

James, thanks hun.
But had a thought - if you are off tomorrow (?) is anyone running your shop in your absence? Once I have had a go with the samples, will need to decide and place an order. Don't think you will manage that from Vegas.

((((((Rag)))))) Family stresses always the worst - you can't leave them at the office. But great that e-cigs act as a good prop for you. I too am looking forward to the ability to recognise real smells again - and heaven only knows what food might actually taste like. All new experiences on their way.
Hope Dee has had a good first day with her vaping.

Oooohhhhh - thank you all - big hugs heading to you all. As a 'strong' person in all other aspects of my life and life history, my main weakness has been my total inability to beat the smoking monster. When I met my ex - we both smoked. However, on one of the occasions that we decided to give up - he did - just went cold turkey. I didn't get through 24-hours. Felt such a failure. But the fact that he managed it gave me hope - hope completely dashed when 3 years later he succombed again. That flattened any optimism or resolve I had. I have paid out for pills, acupuncture, hypnotism etc. Thus, am so wanting this to help me. So please keep battering me with your successes - and thanks too for the lovely notes you have written, indicating that it is okay to allow for any lapses.

So we are both now waiting for our Rivas - and we must compare notes! Vaper buddies remember. (Can't do a smiley on quick reply - but sending a hug).

No problem at all there Chrissie, well explained. Thank you. All makes sense now. Sounds as if everyone has their own 'drug' lab in the back room! Mixing, cutting, syringes etc. I'm off now for a soaky bath and bed. Thanks for all your help and advice today. Sleep tight all.

Me again - sooorrrry - but I haven't understood the use of glycol/glycerine. I think it was Omegaman who wrote somewhere that he/she(?) uses half vg and half....erm - something else. For what, and why both?

If and when someone clever has the time, please - how do you put a picture under your name? Warned you I am rubbish with these things.

And there was me thinking that Omegaman was a girl - with that pic, James, am really wondering what I have got myself into here. But no worries, I won't tell a soul, promise. Your secrets are safe with me.

Reading all of your success stories - especially hearing that so many of you smoked such a larage amount prior to e-cigs - really is making me feel optimistic, and for once, very positive that I might make it this time.
Thanks so much for sharing them, and with absolute honesty. Means I will feel much happier confessing my all if I weaken and succomb to the real ciggies.
