Hi Shelly, I'm also a newbie and yesterday got my Riva after recommendations from these fine people. It's great and much better than the ciggalikes I've tried. As mentioned I've addressed the issue of feeling a bit self conscious of the size of it on another post but I'm already getting used to it.
With regards to flavours, I bought a small bottle of vanilla from vapeescape with my Riva kit and I quite like it. Had menthol before and was good but a bit chemically for my liking.

Sounds like a good enough explanation to me. Could blind them with science and tell them it's "CC3H8O3 mixed with C10H14N2". That should get people to stop asking!

Hi all, Looked around town today for a small pouch of some sort to keep my Riva in when the big case it came in is not practical. Eventually found this pencil case, £1.50 from Wilkinsons. Fits perfectly and will hold a spare battery and a couple of cartomisers too. Thought I'd share in case any of you are after something similar, have seen pouches specifically made for e-cigs going for a lot more than that! Attachments:

Ah, thanks. Probably for the best in some ways as much more reliable to get it from a dedicated website.

Hi all,
Just curious, has ebay banned the sale of e-cigs?
With my previous brief failed encounter with vaping around three years ago I originally purchased an e-cig on ebay. It didn't work and I was refunded and then purchased from a UK website instead.
This week I began my new attempt at vaping by purchasing a Riva through vapeescape, but I did look on ebay first and could not find any actual e-cigs for sale, just accessories.

Slowly warming to the idea and being more brave flashing it in public. May just be me but I feel less self conscious when using a cartomiser than a clearomiser. Think it's just one less odd thing to explain to people if they ask as the clearomiser looks a bit sci-fi!

Great to hear some positive stories. I'm getting on well with it so far, still a bit self conscious about it as you'll see from my other topic (@look at the size of it'), but getting there.

Well, I shall see how I get on with it. Have had two fag breaks this afternoon and ashamed to say I bottled it both times and had a stinkie then a few drags of my Riva when nobody was looking! Still got half a pack of baccy left and I'll probably finish it off slowly over the next few days by alternating. Out Saturday night, which is a rarity for me and I'll be roadtesting my new toy!

popped to the loo to fill up the clearomiser. Don't worry, I used the correct type of juice

I don't expect negative comments to be honest (maybe when out and people have had a few too many sherberts), just rather get on with it unnoticed. Like to think it will become the norm one day, I've hardly ever seen anyone with an e-cig.

Well, just taken delivery of my Riva kit from Vapeescape. Have had a few drags on it from the clearomiser and very impressed. What stands out to me though is the sheer size of the thing. The last e-cig I tried a few years back was in the style of an actual cig. One of the things that put me off using it even then (apart from it just being crap) was is I'm honest the embarrassment and inevitable questions about it when using it. I'm not about to start puffing away at my desk so will continue to go down to my regular smoking area. In general I don't chat to people when I'm smoking as I see it as my quiet time away from the office. Wondering how other people overcame this hurdle. Imagine it'll be even more of an issue when out socialising, don't mind that all my mates will want to try it and ask about it but the hassle of strangers going on about it puts me off. I should point out if you haven't gathered it I'm a bit of a miserable so-and so

Am at work so had to wait until I had a free moment and popped to the loo to fill up the clearomiser. Had a couple of drags on it a minute ago and wow! I can definitely say things have moved on in the three years since I tried an e-cig last time!
Have to say I was surprised at how big the whole thing is! I've been smoking roll ups so it's one heck of a change!

Thanks, know there's no official studies into long term effects but like to hope there's very little chance those effects can be worst than breathing in toxic smoke 20 times a day! Have collected it now, looks like I might need a couple of hours to sit down with it and work out what's what!

Hi all,
I know e-cigs are not touted as a replacement for "stinkies", but just wondered what your thoughts are on the health benefits of them considering this.
I'm off to the post office in a minute to pick up my newly ordered Riva kit (some of you gave me advice on a previous post at the weekend following my failed attempts with e-cigs a few years back). I've only been back smoking fully for about 6 months but following a cold last week I'm really feeling the effects and have had a nasty cough the last few days.
Hoping this new adventure will keep me off the stinkies and get my health back on track. I do suffer from mild asthma which makes me kick myself even more for starting smoking again. I've lost a couple of stone in the last year and smoking has helped me stop the snacking, so will be good to get the oomph back in my lungs to go with my decreased beer belly!
Thanks
