Hello everyone,
I would like to set a challenge to the vendors and reviewers of e-cigs to find the BEST disposable e-cig. The criteria I would like you to judge them on are as follows;
Looks - the more like a real cig, the better (but without an orange/red LED)
Flavour - the more like a real fag the better
Throat Hit - the harsher the better
Vapour - the more like smoke the better
Draw - the more vapour per second, the better
Consistancy - of flavour/vapour - how well it wicks
Nitty gritty - How do you rate the cost of using it to the cost of the equivalent fags that would be smoked during its life
I am not interested in whether or not they can be refilled or recharged - just pick up, vape and throw away.
Thanks for your help.

The interest in this year's VapeFest is really building momentum thanks to the early organisation by the committee headed up by Wayne. With three and a half months to go, the venue has been booked, there are over 30 vendors taking part, hotels/pubs are booked out with vapers and car sharing has been organised. This momentum could turn VapeFest 2011 into a uniquely powerful tool in establishing the electronic cigarette industry and its consumers as a coherent entity equipped to take on the bureaucrats in the UK and abroad.
Next year will be a crucial one for our 'smoking alternative'. The MHRA will be back - plus NICE, the EU and WHO will all have input into whether or not we are allowed to continue enjoying our pastime. This year's VapeFest is a chance for the disperate groups of manufacturers, vendors, campaigners and enthusiasts to come together and work to a common goal - protecting our right to buy and use electronic cigarettes and nicotine liquid here in the UK.
I am not suggesting that the FUN of VapeFest should be spoiled by seri@rsness BUT it is a great chance for networking and maybe signing up to an accord with the single aim stated above and swapping contact details so that interested parties can work together in the months that follow.
VapeFest is just not about vendors and consumers, it is a celebration of a 'harm reduction' alternative to smoking - something which could save thousands of lives in the next few years if it is not 'clubbed' to death in its infancy by the authorities. Many non-profiteering activists and consumers are willing to work together with the manufacturers and vendors to ensure they survive by promoting the electronic cigarette to its target audience - the smokers - these groups of people should be allowed to play a big part in the celebration is they wish.
Examples of people/groups who promote electronic cigarettes who are not vendors/manufacturers themselves include;
ECITA ECCA Vapers Network CAM-VIP UKVapers Forum ECF Allaboute-cigarettes forum ecigusers Dick Puddlecote ECR site and forum VTTV many, many others
These should be given equal recognition at VapeFest, of the hard work they do in promoting electronic cigarettes to smokers.
In the next three months, I would hope to see these groups designing and producing promotional material to take to VapeFest - promoting themselves and our pastime. Why should VapeFest be nothing more than VendorFest when our 'addiction' is threatened? I would hope that the media is informed about the event and that we can garner some positive press/TV coverage. I would like to see medical 'experts' who are pro tobacco harm reduction being invited, even politicians.
Let the country know that we are here and that electronic cigarettes are the 'safer' alternative to smoking tobacco!!
Sorry for the rant

Hello everyone, I am pleased to announce that the Campaign for Vaping in Pubs is to be promoted by vapourworld.co.uk. Paula is having postcards of the Slopes designed 'Vaping welcome' signs made and she will be sending them out with every order. Let's hope that these will be found in pubs all over the UK in the not too distant future Thank you Paula

Tesco are stocking one type of e-cig with 1 type of carto with 1 flavour and 1 strength. Quite cheap to get 1 MA for Tesco and their supplier eh? ,,,,, or am I being cynical?

I would see that as being highly unlikely. I reckon that 10 motives have got their bases covered on this and it wouldn't surprise me if their 1 product is or will be looking down the route of an MA if the MHRA get their way.
Edit: My execution of the English language is poor for a teacher!

JD Wetherspoons have had a rethink on the use of e-cigs in their pubs. They discussed e-cigs at a recent weekly operations meeting thanks to Jim (Durinthiam) emailing the Company Secretary. They are; 'Currently allowing Vaping in the south west region as a "trial" to judge impact on operations and customer perceptions - Jim' Any vapers in the South West that wish to help JD Wetherspoons come to a positive conclusion about vaping, please pop along to your nearest Spoons with your kit and help educate their clientelle as to what e-cigs are all about. If any forum can organise SW Wethers Vaping Meets, then it is this one Cheers! Russell

I'm not sure what is causing your throat problems Dee, but I occasionally get a sore throat when I over-vape with PG liquid - and I've been vaping a long while as well. In fact I have got one now

Hello everyone,
If you care about our pubs and care about how best to encourage breweries, pub chains and licensees to actively embrace vaping smokers. Please step forward and talk to ECCA.
I am vice-chair of the ECCA steering committee so I have to remain reasonably neutral in future committee meetings until the AGM. We need someone to really push ECCA into getting behind the CAM-VIP initiative of increasing awareness of vaping to smokers. It would be so easy for the consumer association to forget about representing potential consumers in addition to those already using ecigs - CAM-VIP cannot let that happen.
Ecigs are a solution to the pub/smoker problem,,,,they replicate smoking in a legal way. The can be used indoors. We are not bothered about health claims and converting people to vaping, we just want the smokers back in the pubs.
If you believe this - please come forward and represent CAM-VIP as a co-opted member of the ECCA steering committee.
Many thanks
