Something like the cyclone v2 could be even easier though, if you extended the negative post and placed the tube and coil higher on the wick. Maybe cut the wick short and crimp it to keep everything in place.
Ok, Im gonna stop drinking coffee and try and sit still for a while.

Yes I think that is the main problem, the eposed wire at the bottom and top would still be in contact with the juice. One of the earlier posts mentioned a second partion in the atty, with a hole to allow the top of the wick to enter and the air directed onto this. I think this could be quite viable with some thing like a cobra where the top cap goes on with O-rings rather than a screw thread. Personally I wouldn't want to do anything permanant to a cobra so it would mean a tube the same size as the top cap, a disk with the wick hole and an O ring around the outside to seal/insulate. This would be slid into place, an airhole drilled and the hole shebang sealed with something like the smok vivi tank top. It sounds fiddly on paper but I dont think it would be too hard in practice and once set, the wick is easy to remove/replaice so filling can be done from there. Might just be making excuses to buy a cobra though

I must have missed that, the one I saw had the wire around the outside of three 1mm capillary tubes. Too many pages, not enough brain.

Just a thought as well, sorry to empty the messy contents of my head in public. But at the bottom of the page that Nick posted above, there are tubes with four or more holes in them. I was wondering if you could run the wire through a small section, up and down and place that in the centre of the wick . If you extended the negative screw to the same height as the positive, it would keep the run of exposed wire short. This arangement would work better with the airflow as is on most genesis and no heat would be lost to the air.
Need to find out the dimensions.

I have some spare o-rings, all my clear tanks cracked untill I replaiced the origonals with slightly smaller ones. I had to buy ten at a time so I'd be happy to send you a couple for free

I cut the ends of both to an angle to stop them getting blocked on the bottom. Attachments:

I have used one of these exclusivly for the last three weeks and I love it, so persevere cos its worth it. Different things seem to work for different people, so experiment and get into that detached zen mindframe and all will be cool. Im by no means an expert but here is what has worked for me. I use the petar k method to make the coil and then check the resistance, this tells me what I should be aiming for when the wick is in place.
I use a double wick, one inside the other. The first I roll around a paperclip and is 12mm wide, the second I roll round a toothpick and is 15mm wide[.

Could you not just leave it with the cap off on a radiator for a week or so, any alcohol would evaporate. If it gets too thick, add distilled water.

Cheers for the responce Macca, I was thinking it would be a good platform to adapt because its cheap and I only need to make two holes to convert it. But having seen your post on the aga t, looks like it would be even easier with that and not much more. Looked a bit harder for info on batteries suitable for this configuration and found this website explaining current, voltage and resistance in parallel circuits: allaboutcircuits.com/vol_1/chpt_5/3.html Also found that my lava is 3.5a max, doable, just. I want to try this because im thinking to make my own genesis, I have a lathe, taps/dies and pillar drill. That side of things I feel pretty confidant about but Id like to try a few setups cheaply before I comit. The battery side of stuff however is a bit more scary and the info seems a bit hard to come by. I like the idea of useing a device with alot of safeties on it. I probably just need to read up a bit more so off I go...

Opps forgot to add, Should the air holes be half that of a single wick (same draw spread over two wicks) or double (twice the draw of a single over two wicks)?

I've been thinking to try and turn a vh genesis into a double wick genesis but there are a few things im unsure of before I proceed.
Would it be safe to try this on a lavatube v4, the output is 2.5a max I believe. I would be using kanthal .16 or .18 for four wraps each to get over 1ohm resistance?
If not what kind of mod would be suitable? How hard would it be to make one?
Thanks in advance.
