I agree with most which has been said in posts, but need to pick up on this above mentioned by a poster.
NO no no no, this is so wrong. This is why there are battery charging fires. You must use the adapter supplied with the charger or charge lead.

If the charge lead is universal USB then the charger must be of the correct USB spec output. Adapters for kindles, ipads .iphones etc may be of a different spec, some indeed even supplying a higher voltage than 5 volts. These are dedicated supplies for particular equipment and should NOT be used as a Universal USB supply.

This video will show you how easy it is to change a lock. You will need a key tha fits. If it was your only key then it can still be done but will require a lot more work. Maybe a case of removing a handle and snapping the look with a sharp blow, or may mean drilling the barrel out. I suspect you have a spare keys so will be no problem. Eurolocks are readily available and you just need to know the size. See the video.
To answer another point raised by a poster, normally when a key is inserted and left in on one side, slightly turned or more, you cannot operate the lock with a key on the other side.
