Must have steady hands and lots of patience for that me thinks. I don't have either of those things so I'm "cheating": they're probably not all that visible on the photos but the laser cutting includes tiny little alignment holes so that each layer can be slid onto 1mm wide stainless rods.

The first parts for my next vaping project just turned up: These are all the custom laser cut parts that are going to be laminated together to make the box - enough for 3 because one didn't fit on the smallest size board. Next step: measure everything with digital calipers so that the 3d-printed "core" can be made an exact fit. The core will support the thinner parts of the case and have all the fixtures to house the other components: board, screen, separate fire switch. Very excited!

Thanks all This mod making malarkey is really satisfying and somewhat addictive (I look upon it as stage 2 shinyitus), I'd highly recommend it!

How about running a mains powered DNA200 off a 12 V 25 A supply, this is a 5 hand set one off a 125 A supply by DogMods who now works for Evolv and is on there forum as Nick Vaping kit isn't getting any less similar to Dr Who props.

why not use the existing port? if strain is the issue a guide should let you engage with the male usb Or mount the male on a lever u only engage when the mod is in position.. that way u can pass thru to a lappy with escribe loaded without draining the lappy battery to charge.. and perhaps even further enhancements like adding a bluetooth broadcast chip hehe... I vape at my desk all day so the idea is to be able to pick it up and put it back on its stand as easily as possible. With that in mind I had kind of given up on the idea of connecting the USB via the stand. Here's what my concept looks like so far: [/url] The mod has matching female contacts on the bottom: two grounds on the outside and live in the centre so that the mod can be put down on the stand either way around.

I don't think I would do it as you say those tracks are tiny NickIcon, IIRC there is a thread on there where someone moved or extended the USB. Agreed - I'll do a little more research.

Thanks VapingBad - I'll go post my question there too. That looks intimidatingly tiny though, may have to source a load of disused PCBs to practice on if I go down that route!

This is the second of two one-off DNA40 box mods I've made over the past few months. The outside case is carved from a solid piece of black walnut (not a technique that I'll be repeating before I invest in some expensive tools!) and the rest is fixed to an aluminium plate so that it all slides in and out of the wooden casing. Sliding out the innards gives access to change the single 18650 battery and reveals the screen and switches. The fire switch is in fact a mechanical keyboard switch with a fancy metal key-cap. It's lovely and light and makes a satisfying click when contact is made. Here are the innards:

It's been while but it seems I've come to the end of a vaping plateau and I'm starting to get back into the swing of trying new things. I've recently made a DNA40 box mod (I'll pop a quick pic into a new thread in a mo) and am starting on a DNA200 build.
For the new build I'd like to try and make a charging stand for it as well - without compromising the USB port.
My intuition says this shouldn't be too difficult - find the positive and ground that the USB connector connects to on the board and solder on the leads to a connector on the mod that fits to the stand.
On the other hand my understanding of electronics is limited... Other than not having the mod connected via the USB port and the to the charging stand at the same time, can anyone enlighten me as to whether this would work?
The follow-up question is where to solder on my leads to the mod's stand connector.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Is it possible to add support for Juice Grinder files? .grindx extension? VERY similar to EJMU files..........but Grinder didn't need 2 .rec files to handle more than 5 flavours With an increasing number of alternatives it's unlikely that I'll be able to provide support for all of them (although I would give each one due consideration). I'll take a look and see how compatible we might be. Also, the new version comes with an API which could potentially allow other websites or pieces of software to work directly with the recipes in your dot1ml account. If you use different software/services that you think could be improved by being able to do this, do feel free to put me in touch with them or point me in the right direction.

First of all, hello again. I've been away from the vaping forums for quite a while now; I feel like I hit a comfortable plateau where all my vaping needs were pretty much met. I felt happy with my hardware, habits and homebrew e-liquids so I guess part of my motivation to keep coming back took a hit. Not long before this I had made dot1ml, a DIY e-liquid calculator/recipes website. Despite not all that much ongoing effort from myself the number of users and recipes on dot1ml has been gradually but consistently growing; there are now over 10,000 recipes on the site. I thought it deserved an update so I've (finally) launched a new version this morning. The design has had a refresh and there are a handful of new features like mixing by weight and higher accuracy for some values (you'll need an account for some features to work but it is free and easy to register). Mobile devices now have improved support, still a little experimental but functional. If you're a developer and could be interested in having access to an API to interact with dot1ml do let me know and we'll talk about it. It's dot1ml.com - comments welcomed. PS - Apologies if you've already seen this posted elsewhere

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is the best online recipe calculator and recipe database on the WWW and I've looked at a bunch. I've used it from my home computer, my Nexus 7 tablet and my iPhone 4. They all work fabulously! Thank you and keep up the good work.... Please! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Thanks hskeaton - glad you're finding it useful!

Just happened to be purchasing some bottles on FT and saw these were back in stock: www.fasttech.com/products/1659700They're Sony's follow up to the VT4, this time with 2600mAh capacity (up 500mAh) and the same 30A discharge. They won't be there for long so grab some while you can!

I think the idea is great NickIcon - had no time to look at - but how big are the quantities ? - cause maybe we can buy them together ? Thousands! Not sure it would be worth the effort for a group buy... Search fasttech, they do loads of bottles with different coloured tops. You get the bottles too (which tend to be less than brilliant) but it's so cheap that it is worth it for the caps
I have quite a collection of different colours from them, even though the bottles that came with them have been relegated to the back of a drawer
edit: search for "bottle 10ml" or 20ml or 30ml or 50ml there is a large selection Hmmm - they are cheap... Ok, maybe I'll settle for 5 colours rather than the full range!
