Chrissie, whilst I have nothing against the format of the forum I do think that having separate boards can make things easier, especially for those new (or old) to the forum looking for specific information. I don't think it needs to be complex though. Perhaps within the general forum, a troubleshooting area, shopping (for all the latest bargains and reviews), a board for the legal wranglings, introduction area (which could include the 'how to' guides) and the lovely chit chat area. That said, if nothing changed at all, it wouldn't be a bad thing Just adding my two pennorth x

I went into two PC Worlds for you today and neither had them I did wonder though whether it may be worth contacting the independent mobile phone shops in case any stocked them, although by the time you have rung round, driven and parked/paid public transport fares, would be cheaper to get that one from ebay!

Great thinking Lolli
I had half thought about that, especially as Cleggy smokes, but I think it may be too late to organise now. I'll send Kate a quick mail to see what she thinks. One of the cheapie throw away kits would have been a good idea though, and Scott gave them a pretty good review.

Yes the Mah is high enough for it to last all day, but though the Ampage is more than good enough for an inline battery passthru, it's not quite high enough to get the best out of a GD passthru To be honest Chrissie, I can't tell any difference between the battery and the the usb on my 'puter. Seems just as good - well, good enough for my anyway. I had a look around and this is the next best thing I can find. I know someone has said they use this and it worked just fine ETA it was Crossbow - he said he used to use his a lot and it was great. Someone else on UKVapers can't use their GD with a Kensington - isn't that odd? www.portablepowersupplies.co.uk/usbliionbatterypack.htm

I'm going! And taking my youngest with me - she's telling everyone we're going to number ten but still has very little idea why!

I read on UKVapers that someone used one (SubVap I think) and said it had lasted the whole day, hence that was the one I bought.
I didn't get to try PCWorld at Orpington today as my time was very tight, but I will endeavour to get there later this week.

Have to say that I can't use my GD passthrough with my power pack, only the in-line battery one, which is the one Lolli with the brolly saw. Lynda I've just read this again Lynda. Do you have the Kensington power pack? My GD works just fine on those (I have two as I am so good at losing mislaying things). I tried plugging it directly into the USB port in my car and it just makes a popping sound. Good job the car is still under warranty as the USB port has never been the same since I tried that.........

So much for whizzing into Maplins - none near me nor on my routes, have any stock.
There is one in Eastbourne, where I will be working next Tuesday, so if no other stores get stock in, my little testing session will have to wait until then!

I also so wish someone else would come along & help Lolli. From looking at Lynda's link, I'm fairly certain that power pack could work as well as the Kensington one. As Lolli says, they both only seem to have 1amp output though. I think that would work. I have a GD passthrough so will whizz into Maplins one day this week and see if they will let me test it out. According to the blurb, it comes with a 60% charge on it, so that should be fine for testing, providing it is not in a sealed box. I was looking at buying another Kensington and searched the PCWorld stores near me. According to the website there is a store near where I will be working tomorrow that had them in stock about a month ago. I have a mountain of jobs to get through tomorrow, but will try to call in there just to check in case there is one lurking. I've added the store to my sat nav so I will remember to call in there inbetween jobs. I will also have another search for this *&^%$&* Nano charger for Lynda, but that will be later in the week when I clear my desk

So Lynda, does that mean you will now be selling your GG Slim?
