That's brilliant Kath. I wouldn't mind betting you'll be taking your new toys with you - both LF and ParadiseVape are super fast shippers (never bought from ecigsoutlet so can't comment on them)

Why dont more people know about e-cigarettes? I only found them yesterday on the ebay q&a (I do a lot of forum lurking whilst sat outside smoking on the laptop lol). I don't know. I found out about them a good few years back (the Blu) but thought I could only buy them from the US and was concerned about customer service. I surf the net a lot and yet only stumbled on them earlier this year by accident. I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic jams in London and have often wondered about getting a sign made for my car so that when I get the weird looks from other drivers when I am vaping, they might at least be able to find out what I am up to! I have seen some advertising in the press recently, although the ads seem to make outrageous claims that are too good to be true, and I would never have ordered from one. I think it is just down to vapers to 'spread the word', although all my smoking pals know I vape, only one has given it a go and that is only because I gave the second hand kit I bought from Tim to her! So many seem to think it is a big initial outlay, but what price do you put on your health?

I'm not sure about that Chrissie - I just waffle more! Liland - there is no proposal to make vaping illegal And you are spot on with the small business aspect - I think this angle has been tackled by some. There was a stakeholder's meeting earlier this month and it seems that because of the overwhelming response to the MHRA proposals - far more than they had anticipated - any decision will be made in September, at the earliest. There is a report of this meeting www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-news/97220-uk-regulation-reports-updates.html if you are interested. However, as Chrissie said, don't let this put you off starting - where there is a will there is a way.........

Hi Liland I'll try to explain this as best I can - as far as I understand it, although it is rather involved so you will be forgiven if you drop off halfway (or before) through. As far as we know the actual e-cigs should not be affected, but the MHRA are trying to control the supply of the juice. They are saying it should be classified as a medicine, although no sites state e-cigs cure you from smoking! They are suggesting that current suppliers should licence their products if they want to continue supplying it. Now, the products, including juice are already under the watchful eye of trading standards and the vendors have to adhere to strict safety rules regarding packaging and labelling. Licensing would be prohibitively expensive for smaller suppliers and in effect, only the big pharmaceutical companies would be able to afford to licence it. Can you see where this is going? Yup, the government want to tax it. They are losing revenue from the decreasing numbers of smokers and e-cigs provide a viable alternative to NRT. The MHRA proposal initially stated that if they felt there were three options. 1. Immediate ban (that would have been the mid June date), 2. a year for companies to licence or 3. do nothing. However, they hadn't reckoned on the strength of feeling from the e-cig users and suppliers and now they have had to add a few months to their decision date. If they ban unlicensed vendors from supplying in the UK then getting the juice will be slightly more difficult than it is now, ie we would have to buy from abroad. Many vapers already buy from China and other countries, so that will always be a viable route. In summary, I think they will make it more awkward, but not impossible. Still awake? I hope that helps a bit

I was just the same Liland - once you get your head around the idea that there may be a viable alternative, the excitement really kicks in and you can't wait for your order to arrive.
On the plus side of this, both Libertyflights and Paradisevape are super fast suppliers, often with next day delivery.
Chrissie is quite right - the cone if for aesthetics and also cuts out some of the air that is drawn in when you vape, giving a stronger draw. In reality, the Riva kit gives you two full electronic cigs - one with the cone and one without, both completely usable.

I seem to be getting myself more and more confused! With the Riva, do you need two sets of atomisers, the cones and the regular? Is battery time that important - I work from home? Also, what is the length of it? The Riva looks a bit heavy to me? Do the non-tobacco flavored juices taste of cigarettes at all (people are always surprised that I dont like the taste)? Thanks for all the help, I'm terrible with choices! Liland In the Riva kit you get 2 batteries, two atomisers one cone and a pack of 10 dry cartridges. You also get the charging lead to plug into your PC and a plug to charge it from the mains. You will need to add a bottle of juice to this to get vaping, but this set up should last you a good few weeks. I find one battery lasts me well over 24 hours, but of course, everyone vapes at a different rate so the times will be different for each person. The charger is high speed and a drained battery should charge within 2 hours. Atomisers don't last forever (although I've only had one die in 4 months) so in a few weeks time, providing you are happy vaping, you might want to consider adding a few new atomisers to your juice order. There is nothing worse than having a new toy and it stops working! If you are considering the slimmer 901 you need to remember that if you are away from a charging point for any length of time (a night out, a day shopping) you may run out of battery life, even with two fully charged ones. However, I managed for a good few months with just a 901 without too many disasters (although I do have a USB port in my car to charge from). Yes, it is heavier than a regular cigarette - even the slimline 901s are - but it is something you should get used to. Vaping is different to smoking in as much as you take a longer, slower draw, which also takes a bit of getting used to. I hope that helps a bit and doesn't confuse you any more.

Ragjoy, I occasionally try taking a drag of a real cig, although usually I have had a few drinks, but it tastes vile. I think sometime I need to remind myself of what I have stopped doing! The other thing is that I still love the smell of a freshly lit cigarette and that tempts me. I can't see myself ever going back to smoking and although I don't want a ban on the juice, I cannot for one minute imagine that a ban will stop me vaping - there will always be a way to get hold of it.
My partner gave up smoking using Champix, but he is smoking again and I hate the smell on his breath, although he doesn't smoke as much as before, I think it is only a matter of time before he is.

Chrissie, did you realise that VaporStation have not had starter kits in stock for months? I used to recommend them to anyone starting out as they were such a good deal, but pointless now Hi and welcome Kath. Please make sure you order your juice at the same time as your Riva because you will need it to start - the Riva doesn't come with any juice and the cartridges are dry - I have mentioned this to the owner and hopefully he will be doing something about that, but in the meantime you will need to get juice as well to get going. As Chrissie said, Paradisevape's tobacco juices are excellent, although they don't have the ashtray taste of smoking, they have the sweeter tobacco flavour - does that make sense. Make sure you use the discount code ECR69 for 15% off at Liberty-flights Good luck

I completely agree with Bucko - that is sound advice.
I started with a 901 and whilst I am sooo grateful it was the turning point to stop me smoking, had I bought the Riva (or Tornado or Ego) first I would have saved quite a lot of money that I have spent trying to find the right device for me.
Now, if you are worried about not taking to vaping, because it is new out and there is quite a buzz around it, the Riva will sell on very quickly (keep the box and all packaging) and you probably won't lose any more than a couple of quid. I'd probably buy if off you myself!
I think the main thing is to give it a go and keep an open mind about it. Some don't take to it straight away (I was in love with it in half an hour) but if you persevere I'm sure you will find you can dramatically cut down your ciggies.
Good luck with whatever you decide and don't be afraid to ask us anything you need to know

I'm intrigued Chrissie - is James a moderator over there who closes down e-cig threads?
I sent Summer a message with some links and discount codes and suggested she gets her mum's juices from our James (see, he now belongs to us!)

I've posted a reply Malibu, although I have to stop myself sounding too evangelistic about them! Hopefully Summer will pop over to the forum and get some real advice - not from that wally who claims they contain tobacco. Oops - just realised I put the link to the forum in there - I wonder if the wally will pop over too.

Aye Chrissie, it is indeed the Eastmall version. I've not tried a Tornego before so this is my first foray into this type and I thought the price was fab. Lilac, I've found the battery life to be excellent although I am quite tempted to add the F-16 to my list as a replacement as it is supposed to last even longer. I think I'll wait for Eco to announce their sale first though PS, Thanks for posting the link Chrissie - it hadn't occurred to me to do that.

I am loving this new toy. I have copied the review I wrote for Liberty Flights page, just because I am too lazy to write another. It is listed at 42.99 on the site, plus 1.99 postage. If you use ECR69 you'll get a 15% discount, bringing the total cost to £38.19, delivered.
I ordered this on Friday am, then faffed around and changed my mind on the colour (as only a woman can) and still received it on Saturday morning! Cannot beat service like that
I've got the titanium - it is very pretty. It comes in a smart black and gold box and the beast inside is lovely. Titanium is a muted, brushed gold colour, without being too bling, although it does have a bright gold end and a gold band around the centre. It comes with two batteries and two 510 atomisers, a cone, 10 blank carts and all the necessary charging bits. When made up it has a nice weight about it - enough that you know it's there without getting RSI because it's too heavy.
When I opened it at 10 am both batteries were almost fully charged - just 5 mins finished them off. I have used this device with just one battery exclusively from 10 am Saturday until 3.30pm Sunday when the first battery finally gave out. That's over 24 hours on one battery, although I did sleep inbetween. There was no loss of power, just a subtle flashing light on the button (this is the only light there is - perfect for stealth vaping in cinemas!)
The button itself is opaque, solid rubber feel, which extends slightly. It has a very quiet click when pressed so you really know when the connection is made. The end is flat and large enough to stand the Riva upright on. Adding the cone does give a more dense draw, although it is perfectly fine without the cone. I've never tried a 510 cart before as I was concerned about loss of flavour. I think that is just a vicious rumour - there is bags of flavour and even juices I had given up on because I couldn't taste were coming through strong, along with clouds of vapour.
In summary, I think this is a great device. It looks great, performs really well, feels lovely to hold, has excellent battery life and is very competitively priced.
