Have you tried the bog-standard Innokin cartos mate ? I find them pretty good. They do seem to need refilling a bit more regularly than the Boge's, but I really like their durability. I've had 3 of them on Menthol, Coconut and a Fruit juice which are all still going well after 2 weeks.

Hi Neil. Wow, you have some good kit. Wish I had one of those ProVaris, but I suspect I need to twist some arms before it's possible Either that or get to the postie before the missus. Difficult to suggest flavours as everyone is different. Do you prefer baccy/fruit/dessert flavours ?

Hi sorry for hijacking your thread but also looking to take the plunge to. Is the Riva 1100 a good place to start. I would love my husband and myself to get off real cigarettes. Hi ToffeePops. Welcome to the 1st step of vaping ! Don't be nervous to ask questions - I was in the same boat just over a month ago It's a great kit. If you and your husband are both looking to start vaping it might be worth looking at combining certain elements of that kit rather than buying 2 though. Might be worth doing your own post so that people can recommend something depending on what you're looking for - which flavours/how many batteries/etc. Whatever you decide good luck !

What next? Well I'll be a little less impatient and take the advice and grab the Riva kit from VE as the other half has allowed some spending! (This was after some discussion.. She's a non-smoker but also a nurse so had to do her own digging and has got the incentive to find out why this route isn't suggested or endorsed by the NHS) So thinking the Riva 1100 kit, a few more sample juices. Just got to get my head around cartomisers and atomisers before I drop VE a message. Thanks for the advice so far and I'll be back for more you can bet on that! Hi Unseen. Welcome to AAEC ! The Riva is a great kit, if that's what you decide on you'll get a good introduction to vaping. To get your head round cartomisers and atomisers. They both look very similar, generally a 1-2 inch metal tube and both actually contain an atomiser head. The difference is that the pure atomiser requires you put a few drops in at a time and then vape, which means a very frequent topping up procedure, whereas the cartomiser contains a wadding material which holds a larger volume of liquid which surrounds the atomiser thus allowing for longer periods between filling up. There are more advanced atomisers/cartos and tank systems, but in the basic sense that is the way to differentiate. Hope it helps.

I have finally got it right, gone back to basics and dropped tanks and what not and gone with Cartomizor with just a Vamo (Now using the Kanger bottom coil cart and loving them, no duds yet) Looking good mate. How do you find those Kanger bottom coil cartos? I remember reading the thread about the problems you were having and I exclusively use cartos. I'm interested in how those ones work and what sort of capacity they have. They certainly sounded like the bees knees.

HS Delight has a weird peppery after taste on the tongue that I find really unpleasant. The Storm doesn't have it at all, it's actually not a bad taste, but not something I personally could use a lot cos it does remind me a lot of cigarettes.
Having said that, I went through 10mls of HS Delight - and ordered another bottle which is still unopened - when I first started vaping, so maybe it works when your taste buds are knackered and you 1st start off ?
The Flue Cured from HS is not a bad flavour either although I find that again tastes very 'dirty'.

After the first 3-4 days, to only have one is really good.
I think I chain-smoked 10 rollies one after the other after 5 days on vaping and since then have gradually cut it down. I've just passed my 1st weekend where I haven't had a single drag, because I just remember how awful they tasted the last time I had a few drags.
It takes a while, but it does get a lot easier. There seems to come a point where it's more about times you used to enjoy a smoke rather than it being very nice. That's what I'm finding more and more. (For example, I cooked dinner tonight and always loved a ciggie after that, the craving was still there, but some nice flavour in the vaper and it just reminded me how nasty a cig would taste).

I found an unopened bottle of HS Storm in the bottom of my vaping box last night and I found that has a really ciggie like vape. It has a bit of a hazelnut/walnut (??) edge to it which is a bit odd, but it isn't half bad for those odd times when you really crave a ciggie. (funnily enough it doesn't taste so good when you don't fancy a ciggie).
It makes the room stink though, really, really strong smell, not one for a stealth vape.

so 4 or so days without a cigarette, strewth, I've spent at least 20 times as much cash on vaping supplies LOL anyone want to buy some 100% hemp and bamboo wicks LOL Quid a metre plus postage.. pre boiled... not got the hemp or kanthal yet, but supposed to be good. waiting on the rebuild-able ultimo atomisers from safercigs... and few high power batteries. awesome though, better than baccy. High Tech. LOL. Good to see you keeping off the ciggies Paul. I'm a bit like you in terms of researching everything. I have to know how things work and so on. I think it's part of that addictive personality trait. So long as I'm not smoking though, I'm happy to read loads of stuff and use my vapes whilst working out what is the best thing which doesn't cost much

It's still a good kit, and is only an issue if you want a decent clearo with your starter kit. It put me right of clearos though. I have an impression, perhaps incorrectly, that they're just a total faff that rarely works. I've been off the tabs for a month and still am wary of clearos.
Edit: And to add, I may have just not got the hang of it. I'm not disparaging the kit, just the clearo and again, it might just be something I've done wrong. It's a great kit overall, you'll have no regrets buying it.

The only problem I had with that Riva kit is the clearo that comes with it. It never worked with my Riva's as it always pushed the centre pin down, then when I got some Ego batteries it just didn't work at all. It's not the best introduction to clearomisers.

Hi I've had my ego starter kit for 16days now but it is starting to fail me, last night one of the clearomisers stopped working, now it appears that the other one is on its way out as well no vapour which points towards insufficient heat. Now the website I bought it of say's the natural lifespan is 14-60 days for the clearomisers I suppose this statement nulls any chance of a refund. I have ordered a clearomisers from a different vendor but if it doesn't come tomorrow it's going to be a loooong weekend. If you're really short, then there's a market in Bedford that does vaping kit. There's supposedly a shop on Victoria Avenue in Cambridge that also sells vaping kit - the tobacconists next to the cycle shop (City Cycles ??), but I think it might be online only.

Just the question of the wicks material perhaps...... ...suppose the question is, is it a safe-ish way to get nicotine? vs. tax losses from not buying cigarettes... I've been doing some reading on wicking materials - it's one of the reasons I don't like Clearos (specifically the use of Silica in wicks when exposed to heat). If you have ANY doubts about silica wicks, then it may be best to not dry-burn them from what I've read. I can't find anything specifically problematic with them, but I've worked with Silica and I don't fancy using it in something that heats up. (This is purely my opinion).
