It's just a Riva starter kit, but I've bought a load of cartos to go with it.
The cone is the one that came with the kit, but I've found without the cone I don't get much vapour/hit so my concern is that I need to buy something to replace that.
My real issue is that the Riva is great for all-day use, but I'd like a VV battery of an evening to 'play' with and don't want to splash out a lot of cash to adapt it.
EDIT : Oh and cheers for the explanation of DCT's. I can look them up now. Just needed that pointer.

Hi all,
New to vaping, but I've been doing a lot of reading and I've come to a couple of questions I can't get the answer to, hopefully someone can help ?
I've been watching a lot of GrimmGreen videos on youtube and he was banging on about tank/cartomiser combinations. They looked like the carto was inside the tank somewhere. I've never seen these, am I missing something here or have I misread what he's saying?
Second, I've seen these videos about variable voltage Ego batteries and I'm tempted to get one of them, but I can't quite work out if they'll work with the stuff I have for my 510 battery fitting. They all seem to need an adapter ?
I know it sounds a bit basic, but I don't know where else to ask.
Any help appreciated.

It's now 5 days since I had a ciggie. 7pm this time last week I came home from work, opened my Riva kit and started to use it. I had a big fall off the wagon the following night after a *couple* of ales, but have not had one since.
Happy as Larry.

Hi all,
I've read bits and pieces about steeping e-Liquids, and I've tried searching, but I can't figure out if everything needs steeping, and how it's done ?
Do I just take the lid off and leave it in the pantry for a while (days ? weeks ?)
Any help appreciated.

Good luck Davey.
I'm really new to vaping and (aside from a major fall off the wagon on my second day) have been off the rollies for 4 days. I also have the Riva and it works a treat !

Just for the record (and to some extent I need to post things so I can recall the dates). I got my Riva kit and did really well until I hit the ale. Went 2 whole days without a ciggie, then chain-smoked about 10 rollies whilst in my cups. Disappointed, but I suspect Monday when I get back to work will be much easier. Not a good idea to give up the rollies on a Friday/Saturday! Still, I didn't have about 30 rollies, so it's about the ones you don't have, as opposed to the ones you do - learning the lingo here. Next thing I'll be calling them analogues

Thanks djsvapour - that's some good advice there. I'll do some more reading up on that. It looks just the thing that I'm after. And Karma, you're right, it's a marathon not a sprint - I suspect I'm just getting worried at giving up The 3 times I've gone cold turkey were a pain in the aris so I'm just wary I suppose. These e-cigs, having tried one, seem to suit me though. As I say, with the people that say they quit from a 40+ a day habit, and having tried (albeit a weaker version) one, I'm hoping this is going to be the thing I need. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the warm welcome - and yes hopefully I can kick these damn rollies into the long grass. It's very inspirational to read some of the tales from people that have managed to kick the damn habit.
Thanks also for the advice on clearos/cartos. I suspect I'll be buying some more clearo's so I can try stuff out until I settle on a particular flavour, then use the cartos on a more regular basis.
(And you're right FirinBlanks, it was the kit you mentioned. I have an email saying my order was dispatched today - I only ordered it last night !)
Bit of an anxious moment. I may actually start quitting the rollies this time tomorrow! I'm actually getting quite nervous.
Cheers all.

Hi all,
Just a quick intro (and one quick question).
I was made aware of these E-Cigs by an article in The Guardian and went out that same day to buy something called a '10motives' ciggie from Tesco's for a fiver. Just meaning to try it out really, see what all the fuss was about, but it was really odd. I didn't need a rollie ! I couldn't quite believe it to be honest, so I went online, spent a lot of time reading up and ended up ordering a Riva starter kit to give myself a few more options with flavour, etc.
I'm hoping this bigger unit can be a bit more long-term, and more economical, and so far I've dipped back into the rollies until it arrives, so I can build myself up to properly quitting.
Anyway, my question is that this kit comes with 5 cartomisers and one clearomiser. I added a bottle of tobacco tasting liquid and a pick 'n' mix selection, but I can't quite work out whether I can re-use the same cartomiser to try out multiple flavours. Do I have to keep each flavour separate or does washing them out work ?
Sorry if this seems really basic, but I can't quite find anything that describes how to test out the different types and I don't want to ruin my new stuff.
