Well, the cappuccino from Mirage arrived this morning. First try - I was drinking my usual morning black coffee at the time, and I found I couldn't really get much of a taste from the juice. Kept on trying - still nothing. Then I had the bright idea to go clean my teeth and get rid of the actual coffee taste in my mouth. What a difference! Now I can taste the subtle (and it is subtle, I get most of it on the exhale, not so much on the inhale) flavour, and I really like it (sorry MarkS, I'm keeping it!). Compared to the Wingnuts juices I've been using up until now, it's much lighter (am alternating it with Wingnuts Chocolate Donut this morning), less 'in yer face'. I think, as my tastebuds recover from the years of smoking (after all, it's only just over a week since I stopped), I'll come to like something more subtle, so this is a good start. Many thanks for the recommendation - sorry it's a keeper

Thanks for the congratz I can't quite believe I've been off the cigs this long, and have NO intention of ever going back NO desire to whatsoever. I just wish I could get my husband to try this, but nah, he won't!

Thank you so much, it's all becoming a bit clearer now. Think I'll hold off until after the London meet before I buy anything apart from more juices (can never have too many juices!). I actually understood your answer about resistance, so I hope it's right - lol! Thanks again!

So, I've been vaping for a week now, using my eGo Twist starter kit from e-smokeireland. Well, that and a few extra clearos. All is going well, but I do have a few questions: 1) I'm using clearos - they seem to come in 2 pieces - the bottom bit which unscrews (the head?) and has the wick in it, and the tank itself. How does this differ from a cartomiser? Does the latter always have some kind of wadding in it to soak up the juice? Is there more than one part to a cartomiser? Do they require you to add drip tips, or do they come with them attached? Why would I choose a carto over a clearo, or vice versa? 2) Can't for the life of me work out what a MOD is - looks like just another battery to me. Please explain! 3) I'm very happy with what I have, but am wondering why people end up with loads of different bits of kit - are some better at some things than others? What is so great about a Provari that makes it cost so much more? Should I aspire to one? 4) Still not sure how I'll know when to change my clearo heads - or, for that matter, my clearos. 5) Why does resistance matter, and what is it? 6) If my clearo runs dry, will it harm it? I've been trying not to let that happen, but no idea whether it's an issue or not. Thanks to anyone who can help. In some ways, this vaping lark is very easy, but in others it's a minefield of jargon. Can't wait to meet some other vapers face to face (going to the meet in London on the 23rd) so I can see if I'm doing it all 'right'

GVC

Has anyone compared Wingnuts Vanilla Custard Supreme (not their standard VC) to Grant's? I got 30 ml of the former last week, couldn't resist a quick taste (it needs steeping for at least 5 days, apparently) and it was lovely. Seemed to mature in the atty (in fact I think all my juices seem to do that, is it normal?). I only tried about 1 ml of it, and am waiting a couple more days before using it properly. I may have to order some GVC to make a comparison if no one's done it before me - any excuse, eh?

Added myself to the attendance list Friday and Saturday at the Premier Inn. Non-smoking room - first time I've been happy to book one of those!

Hello I'm even newer at vaping than you - as you can see from my sig - but have found this to be a very interesting and helpful forum. Welcome - am sure you'll love it as much as I do

I'll bring a camera too - not sure if it'll be the point 'n shoot or the slightly flashier Canon, depends what I take back to the UK with me, but both do video, of a sort, although I'll have to refresh my memory re using them for that.
Anyone else travelling up from Brighton/Hove for this? Looks like my last train home is at 11 pm, so I shan't be having a very late night, mores the pity!

I *think* I'm only a member here (the past couple of weeks I've been all over the web, looking at vaping sites), but also post on boards.ie, which has a vaping section, plus I'm on the Irish Vapers Facebook group. This is definitely the friendliest, most informative and most user-friendly forum I've seen, so I'm staying! Thanks for having me

Just wondering what's in chocolate? Thats addictive too That'll be the sugar, then. I gave up all sugar and sweeteners in food last August, so an additional pleasure for me in vaping is having found the chocolately/sweet flavours of juices. Loads of taste without the carbs I refuse to look at the credit card statement. It may scare me - I *think* I'm up to around the €100 mark (which probably means double that, I have a selective memory when it comes to shopping), and that's in less than 2 weeks - but on the plus side I've already covered the cost of the original eGo Twist starter set (€56), and it won't be long before I'm in 'profit' - a 30 a day habit (tailor mades, not rollies) is expensive! I just have to resist any more shinies for a while. I can do that. Probably.

I'm serious about buying it from you (for the price you paid of course) if you do not like it. Try it out and let me know soon as and I'll hold off ordering another 30ml for now until you do. So you have nothing to lose. Thanks very much Mark, as it's coming from the UK it'll take a few days to get to me (probably delayed by snow now, of course!), but I'll let you know what I think of it. Pretty sure I'll like it though - I'm back on the Wingnuts Wibble today (sort of a mocha flavour) and I'm really enjoying it. That and Wingnuts Honeywood are my favourites to date, though am waiting on my Vanilla Custard (Wingnuts again) and Chocolate Donut to steep - have had a sneaky taste and am looking forward to them!

Broke even on the cost of the starter kit today - after only 5 days of giving up the cigs This makes me very happy. I'll be even happier in a week or so, when I break even on the cost of all the various juices, clearos, drip tips and so on that are wending their way to me. OK, so I may have overspent a bit, but the beauty of it all is that not buying the cigs makes it possible to be a bit indulgent and still come out spending less over all. If I stop spending, that is. Which I will. Soon. Ish. Honest

Ginger, as you're happy with your kit you only really need something for back up. The kit I linked to above would be perfect for that purpose and gives you a spare charger too Thanks for that, have ordered 2, as they're so cheap
